New Life

ESMERALDA

The dinner Vivian served was simple, though not too bad, especially when compared to what I had to endure during the long period when I was waiting in the shop to be sold. Master Jacob made a great show of appreciation, though, almost enough to fool me into thinking that it was on the same level as what I was used to as a harem slave.

The bedroom too, was just a simple bedroom. It was far better than the sleeping accommodations at the shop, but was nowhere near as luxurious as what I enjoyed in the harem. So far, everything here seemed to be simply ordinary. My memories of home, of the time before I was torn away from my mother and sold into this life, were dim, but even though we never lived this well, being in this house stirred up a familiar feeling.
