Keep the door open

7:30 am

The alarm rang and I woke up with a drumming heartbeat inside my chest, I counted to ten and slowly stood up to get ready to meet Carl. I didn't even put makeup on because I wanted our meeting to be as quick as possible. I just needed to tell him that I wasn't interested and that I already had the man I wanted to create a family with. The more time passed the more I grew anxious, I had learned with time that Carl wasn't someone predictable but rather someone who reacted instinctively and never thought about consequences and the risks he was running.

I called the cab Cameron purposely hired to drive me around the city and not tire me to drive.

I told the driver the address of his house and then when we arrived the driver parked the car.

I walked down and reached the door of Carl's house, as soon as I knocked on it he walked out, probably looking through the peephole before answering the door.
