She processed that question with her mind more than I had expected her to and then she finally gave voice to her thoughts.

"I do. I want to marry him." She lifted her hands in sign of surrender as if she gave up on her feelings to accept the truth.

Her cheeks colored red because of the alcohol in circulation in her veins and her eyes were a bit bright.

"It's alright Joanna, it means you truly love him," I said, impeding myself to comment on the fact that just a few months was surely too little to marry.

Not like I was someone who waited a lot either but I guessed passing the one-year line would be enough to prove they were a steady couple.

I could imagine them together and could say that she matched with Philip more than she did with Justin yet I was still scared for her to get hurt.

 Or worst, be left at the altar like Carl did to me. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone, not even my worst enemy.
