Act Five

(At night, there was a great earthquake which shows the anger of the gods. Every building in the Village starts to shake).

Ike:(Holding his mother so tight). What's going on? Why is the ground shaking?

Nnena:(Very sad) The Crown of Clay has been taken away from where it is kept.

Ike: What! No way!

(Still that same night, the king running to the shrine seeing no Crown where it was kept).

King: Noooooo!!! (He screams as light fades).

Scene One

(In the morning, the king sitting in his throne very annoyed. Daniel was present sitting close to his father with three elders).

King: After all the warnings, someone still had the guts to take the Crown of Clay.

2nd elder: My king we're in big trouble.

Daniel: Dad, remember when I was young that you took me to the shrine. We met a woman and her child. By now the child has grown. I'm suspecting that child.

King:(Remembers) Yes, so he took the Crown of Clay... Guards! (He called out three guards). I want you to go to that woman living in a small hut and get me her child. (The guards knows Nnena's hut as they left the palace to Nnena's hut).

2nd elder: My king, I hope you are not taking the wrong decision?

King: The Crown of Clay must be returned back to the shrine.

(The guards at Nnena's hut as Ike and his mother came out).

Ike: Who do you seek?

Guard leader:(Looks at him). The king seek your presence in the palace now.

Nnena: Why? What have my son done?

Ike:(Calms his mother) Mama, don't worry let me answer the king. I'll be fine.

Nnena: Please make sure you come back home.

Ike: Sure. (He follows the guards to the palace. They arrived at the palace as Ike stands in front of the king). Good day my king.

King: Where is the Crown of Clay?

Ike:(Shocked) I don't understand my king

King: I ask you again, where is the Crown of Clay?

Ike: It is at the Shrine where it is kept by my father.

Daniel: You lie, you stole the Crown of Clay.

Ike: No, I can't steal what belongs to my father.

king: Who is your father and how is the Crown of Clay connected to him?

Ike: I'm the son of the gods, I suppose to protect the Crown but I insist to stay with my mother.

king:(Gets angry). Since you don't wanna bring out the Crown you stole, you must be dealt with. Guards! (He called out the guard leader as he comes in).

Ike: My king I never stole the Crown of Clay.

king:(Turns to the guard leader). Take him to the cage and deal with him till he confess where then Crown of Clay is. (The guard leader took Ike to the cage as instructed). Nobody plays with the gods property (Light fades).

Scene Two

(Five hours later, Nnena still in the hut waiting for Ike to come back but didn't see him).

Nnena:(She came outside her hut). Why is Ike not back yet? I hope he is safe where he is. gods of our land please protect your son. (She went to the palace meeting only the king on the throne). My king where is my son? He didn't come back home.

King: You taught your son how to steal. Your son stole the Crown of Clay. Now he is receiving punishment for his crime till he tells us where the Crown is kept.

Nnena:(Begs in tears). My king please, my son never steals. He can't steal what belongs to his father. My king he is innocent.

King: Innocent my foot. (He calls out the guards as they throw Nnena out of the palace).

Nnena:(In tears outside the palace). gods of our land, please save your son. (She went home crying uncontrollably as light fades).

Scene Three

(In the night, Ike in the cage filled with thoughts. Two guards Guarding the cage).

Ike:(So worried). If the gods is truly my father, why is he watching me suffer a crime I didn't commit. (He stood up and scream) My father, help the innocent soul. Don't allow me die of a sin I never committed. (Suddenly, the two guards fell down dead as the cage opened. Ike came out and ran heading home. On his way, a voice stopped him).

Voice: Don't go home yet. I want you to start a journey to the foreign land before the white men sells the Crown of Clay.

Ike: So it's true the Crown is gone.

Voice: Stay in the shrine and by tomorrow morning I'll direct you to where the Crown of Clay is. (Ike went to the Shrine as light fades).
