Never mistake her

As King Nixon walked outside of the palace, he remembered when he entered Cyan's room and saw the position that she was at with that guy, he could not explain the rage that coursed through him.

He was so angry that if that guy had not left at the time that he did, he would have done something terrible and horrifying to him. However, when Cyan told him that the guy was not her lover he was relieved.

He did not even bother asking who the guy truly was. As long as he was not her lover, he was okay.

It was not as if he would not chase after her if she had a lover or not but he just did not like the thought of another man being with her in that manner.

He however noticed something when he moved closer to her. The scar on her wrist. He remembered that that was the same place she had her injury back then. Although she now had another scar in another place.

And then her reaction after being untruthful to him. That was exactly how she reacts after saying something untruthful.

All of these confirmed to him that she is truly the one. Even though any other person would likely not think the same way he was doing, he could never mistake her unique blue eyes. He could never mistake the pull that he felt towards her for something else.

'But then what happened?' He wondered. Right now she was not the sweet Adhley that he knew. She was someone else.

A cold person! He was happy with the fact that although she was being cold and untouchable, he was still able to shake her out of her demeanor. But still, he could not help but want to know what happened to her.

She did not allow her husband to know it was truly her, he was married to another woman and she was not doing anything about it. 'Could it be that she does not love him truly in the first place? Was she forced to be with him then?' He thought as he tried to make sense of the situation.

'Except she is here on a mission.' A thought came to his mind.

He understood the gaze that she had back at the ball and he recognized it to be one of someone bent on a mission.

As he was thinking and walking outside of the palace, he crossed paths with Richard. Richard greeted him in a respectful manner and excitement was visible in his voice.

King Nixon hummed in response to his greeting. He intended to just hum and ignore Richard but he had a second thoughts.

"King Richard," He stopped and called him since he was already walking away.

Richard, at the mention of his name, stopped immediately. "Can I ask about your "dead" wife?" King Nixon asked him.

Richard was surprised at the question that was asked of him out of nowhere. He thought of ignoring King Nixon's question but unless he wanted to offend him, which he could not afford to, he had to find a way to evade the question politely.

"Why do you ask of my dead wife, King Nixon?" Richard asked cautiously. "I just wonder how she died and you, in that very year which she died, married another lady. You know I use to be friends with her, your previous wife I mean, so what happened?" Nixon asked him as he squinted his eyes at Richard.

"Uhmm, she died during labor and her last wish was for me to marry her best friend so that I would not be lonely or feel her absence." He said slowly to make sure that he makes no mistakes in his words.

"Oh, so what happened to the child she was laboring on?" Nixon asked him another question. "Uhmm...he-he died," Richard answered his question. Nixon stared at him intently.

His gaze held suspicion and doubt which Richard saw clearly. He became scared and wondered why he was staring at him like that. He felt very uncomfortable under his direct and intense gaze.

"Really? Are you sure?" He heard King Nixon ask. His throat felt very dry. The way King Nixon asked his question made him wonder if he knew something. He swallowed down spits that he did not find easy to summon in the first instance.

He nodded his head quickly in response to his question.

"Are you here because of that?" He quickly asked again in an attempt to stop him from asking another question from him.

"Most definitely not. I thought I told you immediately I got here that I am here for my sister. Did you forget?" King Nixon said.

Richard remembered and smiled awkwardly, "Oh yes! That is right. Your sister!" He exclaimed weirdly and awkwardly.

"Uhmm, you were unable to find her, right? I told you that she was not here." He said, assuming that King Nixon was not able to find his sister since he was not leaving.

"You are wrong. Very wrong even, because she is right here in this place. " King Nixon said in a calm and sure tone of voice.

"What? How come? That is not possible!" Richard said in a rude shock. He did not expect King Nixon's sister to truly be here. At his very palace. He was amazed.

"Are you surprised? Well, don't be. I am worried about something though. How come you did not know that someone else that is not from your Kingdom is here and that you know nothing about, who might have come with ill intentions is right here in your palace? Don't you think that says something unpleasant about the security of your Kingdom?" King Nixon inquired of King Richard with a hint of mockery in his voice.

King Nixon asked him that question so as question his ability as a good King. However, Richard seemed to have not seen through his question.

"Are you truly worried?" He asked with excitement evident in his voice as he struggled to not smile. It appeared that that was the only part he paid attention to.

King Nixon was amused by him and what he said. 'What is wrong with this man? How did my Adhley fall in love with him in the first place?' He thought.

He decided to mess with him a little bit. "Since you have decided to talk outside the context of what we are saying, how about I ask you a question." He said and Richard agreed to it.

"What will you do if you hear that your previous wife happened to not be dead?" He asked him.
