[Chapter:8][A tale of two kitties]

"You know…", Irene began, "I'm a little surprised you didn't make the offer for us to join your peerage, or just become a Devil."

"Ahaha, I suppose that's the first impression anyone would get of me from that anime huh?", Rias smiled awkwardly as she scratched her head.

"I'm not judging you."

Rias shook her head at Irene's statement.

"It's true, I'm rather…desperate for coming out of my marriage. But that shouldn't be a reason for me to disrespect any of you."

Well, I suppose for members of the Group, being asked to become a 'servant' in any manner would indeed be disrespectful. With just being able to go to different worlds and realities alone, our potential was way, way above any being in DxD or any other world. Not to mention, this is just from the Group having two apps, the Chat and the Mission apps.

"Umm, can we, like, get started with our mission already?"

Hmm? It seems Mikoto-chan wants to become strong quickly. Then again, it's not only Rias-chan who desperately needs strength.

I slowly rouse my body as my eyes flutter open. This action of mine was only caught by Kaguya-chan, however, who nods at me with a smile. Such a beautiful smile at that.

"Well, the objectives are to learn some supernatural technique from this world, as well as eliminating 3 stray devils, 3 rogue fallen, and 3 excommunicated exorcists."

"The elimination part would be easy…"

*Ding*

Before Rias could complete her sentence, the Group notification rang in my mind. And based on the girls' reactions, it was the same for them too.

Except Kaguya-chan, her smile and the fact that she didn't bring up her Smartphone makes me think she did something…

Suspicious…

Calling up the Group, a neat trick I learned when I was feeling too lazy to lift up my Smartphone, a hologram-like blue screen appeared before me.

Opening the Missions app, there wasn't any difference, other than '✔️'s appearing next to the fire three objectives.

"Huh? How did…"

Five pairs of eyes simultaneously turn to Kaguya-chan, who merely chuckles softly in response.

"…"

"Well, guess that's that."

The Group members look at each other before shrugging. As expected, it seems Kaguya-chan used her time stopping ability to complete the objectives just now.

"In that case, all that's left is the learning objective.", Kuroneko muttered as Tsunade spoke right after.

"I want to learn that ability that youkais use. What's is called again? Se-"

My hand unconsciously rises to cover her mouth, stunning her into silence. And no, my hand didn't stretch like a certain rubber-person's hand, nor did I move faster than the eye could see. Tsunade just so happened to be sitting on a chair right next to the sofa I've been sleeping on.

"Admin-san?"

Tsunade looked at me in surprise, as from the anime, I shouldn't be someone who would take action without reason.

Rather than arguing with her, I direct my glance towards the white haired little kitty whose body visibly tensed and stiffened at the mention of the 'ability that youkais use'.

"Oh, right, sorry. I forgot."

A sheepish smile appeared on Tsunade's face as she rubbed the back of her head while looking apologetically at Rias.

But Rias seemed to have thought of something as she put on a determined expression instead.

Oh? Is she going to confront Koneko about the truth of her sister? Although it might be too direct and sudden to the little kitty, it's a good time too, since the Group's here. Although I doubt her pride would let her ask for Irene-chan's or Kaguya-chan's help, if she sees Tsunade-chan and me practice Senjutsu without any problem, Rias-chan's words should have a lot more weight to them.

Oh, right, I decided to try and learn Senjutsu too. Why? Because, of all the supernatural techniques that humans in DxD can learn, there are only three substantial ones, human Magic, Senjutsu, and Sacred Gears.

Obviously, the last one's out. And as far as I know, human Magic in DxD is based on numerous and complicated calculations, which would eat up a lot of my sleeping time. So after a process of elimination, Senjutsu was the only one left for me.

Of course, I can just let someone else learn a supernatural technique and complete the objective, since it isn't compulsory for each participants to complete all the objectives…

If only I wasn't the Admin…

Unfortunately, while being an Admin gives me privileges, it also gives me responsibilities. Such as, I have to personally complete at least 1 objective in every mission. Killing sounds like a drag considering how weak I am, so learning Senjutsu it is.

But well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Besides, it seems Rias-chan started.

"Koneko…I want you to listen to what I'm saying with an open mind, alright?"

"???"

I could practically see the comical question marks appearing on top of her head. Hehe. How cute.

Also, I realised it a while ago, but I'm a sucker for cute things and cute people. Who knew right?

"This is about your past, about your sister and the truth of what happened to the two of you."

"!!!"

Like a kitty that whose tail was stepped on, pun intended, Koneko straightened as her pupils constricted. Rias-chan didn't give her the chance to open her mouth to say anything, however.

"Listen first!"

Oooh, not bad Rias-chan. That dominating tone of speech was pretty good.

"Alright, I'll be quick about this.", Rias-chan took a deep breath as she continued, "I don't have any evidence about this, and I can't start looking for it either as neither I nor the peerage is strong enough to handle the consequences, but I still want to ask you to believe in me."
