CHAPTER 15

THIRD PERSON'S POV:-

NIGHT OF THE HALLOWEEN:-

The Halloween party had started. All the guests had arrived. Even Sara had reached the party. As Matt was excited to finally be able to date the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen in his life, he was at the party half an hour before it even started. He had waited all these years just to get her to say yes. After all, everything he had done, it was for her only.

Matt was walking back and forth just so he would step into the party with his date for the night. He had planned that date to be perfect. Everything was in check. He had prepared everything by his own hands. He had even decorated his house in a romantic way. He could not help but imagine if Marsha would decide to spend some more time with him. Or if she would decide to sleep with him.

It was just an imagination that was near to impossible. As Matt knew Marsha well. He knew how hard it could be to just get Marsha's attention. He was surprised when Marsha actually said yes to be his date for the Halloween party. He was expecting more curses and crazy yelling from her side. But instead she just accepted his proposal. It was enough to shock him.

He knew her very well. After all, he was her therapist ever since she had come back to Ireland. She had told him everything she had felt or had been dreaming about. Something was off about her. As nothing actually helped Marsha for more than a few days. And the nightmares would come back to annoy her. Making her life a living hell. Even the best therapist of Bray city, Matt was somehow not able to help Marsha at all.

His palms had started to get sweaty and his heart was thumping inside his rib cage wildly. Only these questions were running into his mind. "Why is she not here yet? Has she changed her mind? Did she ditch me like always? Why is she so complicated? Is she okay? What if something happened to her? Should I go to her apartment and check on her? No, she strictly said not to visit her apartment. What should I do?" The anxiety was increasing by every passing minute and his brain was not helping him at all.

"What the fuck are you still doing out here? The party has already started. Or are you planning to ditch us all?" Matt jumped as he heard Sara from behind. He turned around to look at her. She looked amazing. He could not help but think if Sara could look this amazing in a dress, would he be able to stand the stunning most Marsha and her beauty? As he was lost in the ocean of his thoughts, he did not reply to Sara. She rolled her eyes in annoyance and snapped her fingers twice in front of his eyes.

As if he just woke up from a delicious dream he was lost in. He looked at her and made a "huh!" Sound. Just like a stupid person. Sara rolled her eyes and shook her head while Matt was nervously looking around to hide his embarrassment.

"I asked you, why are you standing here like a dofus? The party is inside, not at the door, you dofus!" Sara asked Matt annoyingly. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and gave her a guilty look.

"I was waiting for Marsha. She has not come yet. I don't want to be at the party without her by my side." He replied and Sara slapped her palm on her forehead. She shook her head in a disappointed way and grabbed Matt's arm.

"You see, Marsha is not a baby. And she hates being treated like a baby. She is an independent woman and she will be here soon. She can come in on her own. You and I are going inside so we can enjoy the party. No more questions or pleadings." Sara said in an annoyed tone and pulled Matt in. She took Matt straight towards the bar where all their friends were drinking and enjoying the party.

"See! We were all having fun while you were just standing there like a total idiot. Just enjoy the night. Don't worry about Marsha. She will be here." Sara said and pushed a tray that had more than a dozen glasses with tequila shots.

Matt looked at the shots and shook his head. "No, I can not, I will have to drive back home. I can not drink." He said and pushed the tray back towards Sara. She raised her brow at him and she shook his head again. He just could not drink. He had planned the whole night. And he knew that he could not handle this much alcohol easily. The alcohol would ruin his plans for the night.

"Don't be a pussy, Brian. There are a lot of people who can drive you back. We are all here to enjoy and I will not like to see you uncomfortable in my party. Come on, let's race. Let's see who can finish all the glasses first." Mr Falcon came from behind and challenged Matt. He took his seat beside Matt and signalled the waiter to bring more tequila shots.

Matt gulped hard and looked around. He then looked at the door, as if he was expecting Marsha standing at the entrance, looking for him. So he could go to her and save himself. Because he did not know how to say no to his boss. But she was still not at the party.

He sighed in a disappointed way and nodded his head. Everyone gathered around and started cheering for both Matt and Mr Falcon. Sara set the timer on her phone and counted till three. As she signalled, Matt and Mr Falcon picked up their first glasses and downed the bitter content in one go.

One after another, Mr Falcon finished his glasses in a few minutes while Matt took longer than Mr Falcon. By the end of his last shot, he was fully drunk and started screaming like a crazy man.
