Arc 6 Chapter 6.8 ( The little mermaid and the Marshal )

After they defeated the millipede like sand monster , the hunter group fought more monsters after . The monsters in the dungeon were less than any other dungeon they had entered before but the environment in this dungeon is harsher and disadvantageous to them .

Zone just escorted them until they entered a pyramid. This kind of setting is usually where the boss monster resides . The moment the whole group entered the pyramid , most of them were already sweating in buckets.  Janah who looked dehydrated paused her footsteps and tiredly turned to look at the marshal.

" It seems that we are no longer capable of defeating the boss monster , Marshal.  " Said Janah

The injured guild members hung their heads down in disappointment and regret.  " We probably couldn't exit alive gere if not because of the Marshal's assistance.  We're deeply grateful for your help , Marshal Thaniel.  "

(Name pronunciation- Daniyel)

The cold looking marshal looked at them then said with his low voice . " After i cleared thus round , go back and report to Niel . "

Janah and the Silver Wolf Guild members nodded and watched as the Marshal walked forward to open the gigantic door of the boss room. 

Zone entered and paused for a moment to look at Uno at the side.  Uno nodded tacitly and mouthed that he will stay to protect the guild members.  Zone nodded perfunctorily and disappeared into the boss room .

The whole place turned eerily silent the moment Zone disappeared.  They all gulped down and stared at the the door with enthusiastic eyes , they unfortunately couldn't witness how the great marshal would kill the boss monster easily.

Zone lifted up his head and met a pair of malevolent eyes peering down on his body as if watching a ridiculous ant trying to challenge a diety . Zone hated that kind of arrogant eyes and wanted to pull those eyes for his collection.   

The monster in front of him was an A rank Sand Serpent . The monster bot only exudes hot air around the area but it can also manipulate sand . It was approximately 10 meters long and when it lifted its head over , it's head almost reach the ceiling. 

Zone retracted his claw and beared his fangs to the sand serpent.  A low and powerful voice suddenly attacked the brain of the serpent.  " How dare you look down on me! Lowly worm! "

Bang!

The head of the serpent seemed to have been affected as the monster started shrieking in rage.  A sand tail suddenly lifted up and lunged down to crush Zone's small body. 

Suddenly a phantom blue tail emerged behind Zone . The tail suddenly moved and parried the sand serpent's tail.  The serpent paused and stared its pair of lizard like made of sand eyes unto the tail of the man.  Somehow , the serpent felt great fear towards the tail .

When the serpent stared intensely at the man , a vague shadow of an ancient fox diety could be seen gradually making an outline in the air.  The whole surroundings seemed to have paused as the serpent felt a constraining domineering supression grasped its neck  

The temperature dropped tremendously causing the sand serpent to cry out with an uncomfortable feeling .

The blue tail suddenly spinned and a shot of thorny water that blasted the body of the serpent . The serpent wriggles its gigantic body frantically trying to escape out of the room .

The marshal however was still not yet satisfied with toying with him. 

" Let's play a little longer little serpent~"

The serpent looked dumbfoundedly at the man and thought to itself , which of my body is little?  Are you fccin blind two legged man?

Zone smiled crazily and jumped towards the head of the serpent and clawed on its body leaving three slashes on the serpent's body.  Before he could even land back to the ground , the serpent suddenly turned into sand particles .

Zone grasped a shiny crystal thing in his hand and tossed it mid-air playing it with little interest before his eyes immediately returned to boredom . Zone's expression returned to that of a strict and composed marshal and turned his back to return .

The whole group stared at the relaxed marshal with utter admiration the moment the door opened not even a minute long. 

" So cool!!! "

" I decided to worship Marshal Thaniel from now on.  "

" Waaah , was he really that powerful? It's been a long time since we last saw Marshal fighting live.  Unfortunately , we didn't get to see him fight.  "

" Well , the marshal have been fighting on the frontline these past few years and we rarely get news about him.  "

" Who would have thought that an onega like him could grow strong to such extent.  "

" Don't compare our marshal to any omegas , he's unique.  "

" If he's that strong , who could conquer him? "

" Naturally , .... 

" No one could conquer him.  "

" Hahaha , i thought you would state some famous names . "

" Are you kidding me? For me , Marshal Thaniel is the strongest person in the whole world.  "

" I think you're just exaggerating the Marshal's power.  "

Uno glanced at the chattering guild members and turned to look at the marshal.  " Let's go back now? "

Zone nodded . " Naturally , I still have my baby mermaid waiting for me in my home.  "

Uno smiled and thought to himself.  I also have my Doze waiting for me in our bedroom .

" Rian~ " Zone excitedly opened the door to the mansion and ran towards the poolroom.  Uni followed and sighed before bending down to arranged back the scattered shoes of the marshal. 

Zone didn't care about his shoes and peeked inside Rian's room . Yet the whole room was dark .

Zone's silver irisless eyes constricted . He clenched his fist and trembledly switched the light on . " Rian? "

A water movement suddenly resonated as a golden head suddenly popped up from the pool . Zone's heart that almost leaped out of his throat went back to his ribcage and released a big breathe out of relief .

" So you're just here , why didn't you respond to my call . " Zone gently said and knelt down on the edge of the pool.

But then ... He suddenly noticed a big change on his little mermaid .

Zone stared at Rian with wide eyes when ge noticed that he suddenly became an adult merman .

" When did you become like that? "

Before Rian could answer him , Zone suddenly noticed several people appearing out of nowhere . It was as if a water veil covering their bodies have been uncovered. No wonder Zone had been tensed the moment he approached the room , there's actually intruders lurking around .

Zone's eyes immediately turned hostile and stared intensely at the three intruders.  " Who gave you a permission to enter my house? "

Proteus walked forward and tilted his head to the side.  " So you're the one who kidnapped our youngest brother? "

Zone smirked and asked out sarcastically.  " Kidnapped? Do you think I kidnapped him? "

" We do "

Fccin shit... Zone coldly glared at them and turned to look at the adult version of Rian.  " Rian was the one who approached me first.  "

" What's your business here? " Zone asked and beckoned to Rian to come near him. 

Proteus followed his eyes and glanced at Rian who followed his 'master's' order to swim near the edge of the pool.  He watched their youngest as the two legged man touched the prince's head unceremoniously. 

One red haired knight named Quarion just righteously watched at the sidelines while two purple heads and one golden hair talked to the two legged man. 

The golden haired Proteus welcomed himself to the Marshal's home and sat down on a recliner.  " My father wants to get the youngest back under the ocean.  "

Rian's head immediately turned to look at Proteus and shook his head.  " No "

Rhodes impatiently glanced at Triton and said.  " No refusals , we will get you back to father . "

" No! " Rian scratched the tile at the edge of tge pool with his claws and waved his tail towards Rhode .

" I won't leave my marshal! "

Rhodes and Byuen( the second purple haired ) had their faces splashed with water without any warning.  The two flinched then opened their dull eyes.  They calmly wiped their faces then sighed . Byuen looked at Triton with a serious expression and said . " Uncle Neptune is going to mobilize the army to declare a war to the two legged humans if you don't go back under the sea.  "

Zone , the marshal of the said two legged humans immediately turned his head and glared at the purple head man . " Go ahead and I'll meet him head on.  "

" Marshal " Triton immediately held Zone's hand calmed him with a hand pinch. 

Zone gave him a disatisfied look and pinched his cheeks.  " Your father is going to invade my land and you expect me to calm down? "

Rian pouted then bowed his head , he tilted his head to the side and secretly gave Rhodes , Byuen and Quarion a cold menacing glare , completely different from his previous persona . When his chin was turned back to the Marshal's expression , his expression immediately returned back to the aggrieved look he wore earlier. 

" W-what do you expect me to do? I want to stay here but father's going to fight humans.  If i go back there , i couldn't see you anymore.  "

Rian pouted then showed a distressed look.  " Marshal , Rian will miss you . Rian couldn't bear it.  " Said the two faced merman in a third person perspective. 

Proteus at the side twitched his mouth as he probably could understand everything about Triton's thoughts .

Rhodes at the side straightened his back and looked excitedly at Triton with hidden schemes.  " Hey youngest , why don't we bring this marshal home? "

Byuen frowned and looked at Rhodes.  " Are you dumb? Humans couldn't breathe underwater.  "

Rhodes immediately blinked his eyes innocently.  " So what? That's none of my business ,all we have to do is to bring back the youngest.  If the marshal don't want to let the youngest go , then he should follow us instead . "

Clearly , Rhodes just want to drown Zone underwater. 

The purple haired man malisciously stared at tge marshal then chuckled inwardly.  " If you really want our brother , you can fall into the abyss for him right? "

The word Abbyss seemed to have triggered something within Zone as his irisless eyes suddenly flashed with a hint of red but it was so fleeting that no one noticed it except Proteus and Quarion.  Zone turned his head to the side and locked his eyes unto the purple haired man .

" Are you sure it's fine to invite a dangerous man such as me to your home? "

Quarion at the side wanted to move but was immediately stopped with Proteus glance. 

Byuen 'hoh'ed amusingly and asked.  " Why do you think it's not fine to invite you? Do you think that we merfolks couldn't afford to accommodate you? "

The Marshal's irisless eyes flowed with aura and suddenly chuckled.  He stood up and walked towards them , as he stepped forward , Rhodes and Byuen felt the incoming danger . It was as if an invisible suffocating black aura was about to approach them and grasp their necks. 

Proteus immediately stood up and held out his hand.  " Marshal , please stop.  "

Zone stopped then smiled knowingly at the man.  " Oh~ ,why are you sweating? "

Proteus wiped his sweat then haha'd wryly.  " It's not a sweat , we just have an innate moist skin.  "

" ... " Zone

" Is that so "

Zone's expression returned back to boredom as his interest on bullying the merfolks suddenly disappeared . He went back to Rian's side and caressed his husband's face gently.  " If you really want me to accompany your brother to return to your home... " Zone grasp Rian's jaw and rubbed his lips for a while before smiling gently towards the quartet. 

" I don't mind holding my breathe , but ... If someone provoked me and i happen to lose my patience.  "

" I don't think you merfolks could afford my wrath . "

Rhodes at the side sneered inwards.  ' that is if you can survive holding your breathe for a long time. '

The quarter was given 4 rooms for them to stay for a night . The moment the sun rises in the morning , that is the time thet would go back. 

As Rhodes and Byuen went to their respective rooms . Rhodes arrogantly spoke out loud . " I can't wait to see that arrogant marshal struggle under the pressure of the ocean once we push him under.  What will his face become if ge desperately wants to go back up to breathe oxygen? "

Byuen at the side rolled his eyes.  " He is the marshal of the humanity , he naturally has strong physique . I'm sure he could survive.  "

Rhodes crossed his arms and opened the door rudely before saying . " Even if he indeed survived , father won't let a man like him who couldn't bear Triton's child to become his merwife ... Oh i remembered that he is not even a mermaid.  "

Before Rhodes could laugh out loud out of smugness.  Quarion's words suddenly entered his ears. 

" The marshal of the humans in an Omega.  "

A moment later after Quarion walked out. 

" What!!!!!!!! "

" I thought he was an alpha?"

Rhodes dumbfoundedly stared at the closed door and recalled the killing intent they felt earlier.  " There's no way that's an Omega! "

Byuen chuckled and entered the room.  " Fool , The marshal naturally could bear Triton's child . "

Why those men were having their own moments in the mansion.  Proteus inside the room is swearing buckets of sweat .

Proteus wiped his face as his eyes trembledly stared at the ground with horror .

" W-what is that ominous black aura around that Marshal's body.  "

Proteus shivered and hugged himself.  He could feel his divinity brewing in turmoil , as if he would turn corrupted if he was infected by that energy. 

" Father's in danger if he provokes that man.  "
