WITH POWER COMES RESPONSIBILITY

WITH POWER COMES RESPONSIBILITY

"Next duel is between Darronn and Orion"

"The duel begins"

The duel between Darronn and me proceeded quickly. Darronn was exhilarated and he was waiting for this moment the whole day and night.

His purpose in fighting the duel wasn't to harm Bommurs. Bommurs was his ticket to fight with me, because I would definitely challenge him if he hurt my friend. Hurting Bommur wasn't his purpose in joining the competition, he wanted to meet me and teach me a lesson, using my friends as pawns.

"Rhinoceros punch"

Darronn launched his most powerful attack on me, channeling arcane magic with his powerful gauntlet. The strength of a Rhinoceros was condensed into Darronn's fist as his punch came close to me.

But I just stood there unmoved and not a little worried, which gave the crowd a greater shock. The crowd was stunned when I surprised them by taking the baron's son's powerful punch right on.

"How did someone who just awakened his templar magic block Darronn's strike with his chest? Darron is so high leveled, the distance between them is too vast", someone shouted from the crowd of spectators.

But before any from the crowd could add more speculations, a punch landed on Darronn that was more powerful than Darron's initial strike. Darron was thrown back from the force of my punch landing close to the edges of the arena.

"What happened? Nothing, hahaha", Raven shouted out loud and laughed as Darron's punch landed on my chest.

My armor absorbed the power from Darron's attack completely.

"It's not possible how did you absorb my powerful attack?" Darronn questioned me from the edges of the arena, still struggling to stand up.

"The answer is in simple arithmetic", I told him and the crowd to their surprise, but I decided not to elaborate further than that.

"What is arithmetic?" Minna asked my friends, but nobody had ever heard of the term in school or in the village.

Darronn had three stars worth of magic in the templar region of Power and by using his +2 gauntlet his punch was increased to virtually an equivalent of a 5-star Templar charged Power strike.

On the other hand, the Constitution region of my templar sky gave me three stars that were added to my +3 armor, enhancing my magical armor to a 6-star templar Constitution equivalent in magic which easily blocked and absorbed the Power from Darronn's powerful attack.

"Punch and Kick"

I dashed toward Darronn to punch his face and threw him back a few feet, closer to the exit of the arena ring.

"Argghhhh"

Darron screamed as his face was struck and he lay on the floor hopelessly. This wasn't what he anticipated when he accepted my challenge and definitely not how he envisioned obtaining revenge for his brother.

"How is it possible that a Level 1 Awakened could put him in such a dire situation?" Darron asked himself as he was pummeled repeatedly without a shred of mercy.

I punched him again and again and again.

"No, you can't harm the baron's heir", the referee of the duel shouted out to me, trying to stop me.

"Try to stop this fight if you dare. Have you forgotten who you are talking to", I told the referee who was taken back by my words.

The referee of the Young Templar's duel was also one of the judges who presided the court case against Raven in the Town Hall recently where I flogged Michonn with magical lightning.

"Who is he? Isn't he the son of the carpenter?" the spectators asked among themselves, curious about my words.

Then someone wise spoke out.

"He's a Conjurer Apprentice, haven't you heard about what happened in the town hall, he whipped the other son of the baron with magical lightning. No one dares to speak against him in town now", he said to the others to enlighten them.

The spectators suddenly kept quiet and stopped their gossip.

The referee was also stunned and didn't stop the match even though I had practically won and Daronn for all effects, already lost the match.

"Why do you keep hitting my face? That's ungentlemanly", Darronn screamed at me with blood spouting from his mouth and nose.

"It's because you didn't wear armor on your face and besides, I like to see your swollen face for a few months", I replied to Darronn.

In a few more hits, Darronn was almost unconscious.

"Come on wake up and fight, don't sleep", I taunted Darronn.

Darronn was wounded and was merely a punching bag for me.

"Serve you right for hitting my friend", I told him.

In another punch Darronn was K.O.ed and carried down from the arena by stretchers.

Although I was much weaker than Darronn in terms of Awakening Level, I had a special Angel Affinity where I obtained another magical star in each of my Templar skies at every level of Templar magic that I advanced to which amounted to four per level so, at Awakening Level 3, I already have 12 total templar stars compared to Darron's 8 which made me a more powerful and balanced fighter than him.

"Hooray for Orion, Slowan's Young Templar", Minna shouted out my win even before the referee announced it.

There wasn't another challenger who was sane enough to challenge me after my fight with Darronn.

"You put Darronn in bed for another two weeks, you are rather a bully nowadays, aren't you?" Vickymia asked me.

"The baron's children needed education in manners", I told the healer.

"And who gave you the responsibility to educate them?" Vickymia asked me.

"With Power comes Responsibility", I told Vickymia as I took out my fist to look at it in front of her while she sneered at my response.

"I like you better when you are my customer", the healer told me.

Vickymia didn't like the recent changes in me because she doesn't believe in settling matters with violence.

The line of thought was similar to most who work in the healing industry where compassion even for baddies was acceptable. But this wasn't a civilized world but a medieval strength that trumps all society and her line of thought would not survive long in this place.
