chapter twenty eight

"I'm hungry" I said to nobody for the tenth time when we arrived at the school.

"Must you sing that in my ears?" Maya said looking at the papers we collected from the woman we met earlier for info.

"Hmm, I'm not seeing any class named this" said Maya still looking at the paper

"Named what?"

"Named this"

"The class name is this?"

"No" she face palmed herself and she showed me the paper. "I guess we need to ask for help" she added

"Uhm,pls excuse me" Maya said to a blonde girl with too much red lipstick.

"Yes" she replied with this kind of attitude voice

"Pls do you know where this class is?" Maya asked showing her the paper

"I'm actually heading there too. Follow me" the girl replied with a smile.

After the class,Maya and I walked out in a mission to find the cafe. The blonde girl appeared by our side and I was too hungry to be startled now.

"Hey so what's your name?" The blonde asked us

"I'm Maya and she's Khair, what of you?" Maya replied cos I was not in the mood for talking right now

"I'm Stephanie." The girl said annddd they got into conversation with Maya as if they were just seeing each other  after a long lost friendship.

"Guys,I'm hungry" I said when I realised they won't shut up for now. "Oh my God Khair. Pls come and eat me"Maya said waving her hand in the air.

"Khair dear,that's were we are going also so,in just two minutes,we will arrive there" Stephanie said with her high pitch voice.

We walked some more and immediately I spotted the cafe,I left the two chatterboxes behind and rushed inside.

I ordered vegan bacon and scrambled egg with my smoothie. I started eating without waiting for them. They later joined me and ordered the same thing. By the time I was filled to my heart content,that's when I started hearing and seeing everything clearly.

After we finished eating,we went to class and didn't go back home till after three o'clock.

"That girl is so sweet but she's a complete talkative" Maya said as she was driving us home. "Yeah I see,you are also a talkative" I shot back at her and she glared at me not saying anything furthermore till we reached home.

"Hey Maya, come and help me chop this onions" I shouted from the kitchen. "Coming" she shouted back and in less than a minute,she entered the kitchen with her oversize shirt.

"I'm here. What did you want me to chop?" She asked holding the sharp knife up as if she's ready to display her ninja skills. "This onions" I replied pushing to her the plate of onions with my teary eyes.

"No no,not onions pls. Can I chop something aside from onions that will make cry pls?" She pleaded pushing the onions back to me.

"Ok what do you want to chop apart of onions?" I asked her with a glare.

"Can't I chop your head?"she replied sarcastically

"You must be originally drunk" I remarked and we all laughed

"Just stay back and watch this lazy brat" I concluded collecting the knife from her before she really chops my head off.

Maya has sneaked out of the kitchen to our room by the time I finished cooking. I arranged the food on the dinning and went to the room to summon her only to find her lying flat on the bed and her legs dancing in the air.

"What are you doing?" I shouted even though I clearly see that she's on call with someone but I just want to piss her off

"I'm on call" she mouthed pointing to her phone. "I know" I shouted

"Uhm Maya food is ready and I have arranged them on the dinning. Care to come and join me?" I shouted just to annoy her. She stood up still talking on her phone and went to the dinning.

"Oh wow you're seated already. Ok let me serve you then myself. Hmm this food is yummy" I said filling my mouth with the fried rice I prepared and chewing it loudly close to Maya's phone. She is clearly annoyed now so she stood up and ran inside the toilet.

Good. She's paying back for what she did to me this morning and leaving only me to Cook

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Maya yelled as soon as she stepped out of the bathroom. "Nothing" I casually replied sipping my soda.

"I was talking to Stephanie but you just have to....ughh you're annoying" she said grabbing a chair

"Tell me the truth. Who were you talking to?"

"Stephanie's brother"

"What the butt?"

"What?"

"How?why are you speaking to him? Don't tell me you are going to date him"

"I am"

"WHAT?" I exclaimed my eyes bulging out

"What of my poor uncle?" I added

"Let's just forget about this topic" she said with normal expression as if she isn't the one that just dropped a bombshell right now. I decided not to also talk about it so we ate out food in peace.

"Hey girls" Stephanie chirped out of nowhere when we were going to maths class.

"Hi"Maya and I said in unison and Stephanie hugged us both. Today she managed and put less lipstick.

As we were going, we gist and I realized she's simply a sweet and friendly girl. But most importantly, talk. She can talk for five minutes straight without breathing.

I found out she has a brother named Xavier and he's in his final year. And she's also from New York. I just found many things about her today,down to her favourite kind of boy. Huff

And the funny part in her relationship status is that,she has dated more than thirty boys,if not more. If there is anything like playgirl, she's is one of them.

I wonder why Stephanie wants to study medicine. She should just go for all those wwe officials that can talk without their mouths getting tired.

Stephanie is the kind of girl that thinks every guys eyes is on her. She sees herself as the most beautiful creature ever that every man would want.

I rolled my eyes at that thought.

After classes,we went to the cafe. Maya and Stephanie apparently can't stop talking about Xavier. I will deal with Maya later cos right now,I'm focusing on the lasagna and smoothie placed before on the table.

How will I start eating this thing. I don't even know why I ordered it in the first place.

I picked it up and took a small bite and my eyes widened at the taste. This is incredibly sweet. I kept eating the sweet lasagna and I looked over at the two chatterbox giggling about something.

Mad fowls.

When we were done for today's classes, we went back home. I decided to ask Maya about this Xavier boy they were talking about.

"Maya" I called out reducing the volume of the song coming out of the car.

"Yes" she replied eyes focused on the road.

"Don't tell me you are planning to befriend Stephanie's bro"

"Oops,that's what I wanted to do"

"You must be kidding me. He's a Christian girl"

"I know. Its not like I'm marrying him duhh" Maya said waving her hand in the air dramatically

"But you haven't even see him for crying out loud"

"I have his pictures"

"Oh my God. You are officially out of your mind. May God deliver you" I prayed for this girl that is becoming something else

"Amen and you too" she smirked and I feel like strangling her now.

We went out of the car and she quickly hugged me from behind.

"Sorry bestie. I didn't mean to make you angry. Xavier is so handsome and you won't understand what I mean. And I'm not marrying him ok?" She said giving me the puppy eyes I can't resist.

I hugged her back and we went inside. She kept telling me what she knows about Xavier and I mostly didn't listen to the rubbish she kept ranting about. I only grabbed where she said Xavier is coming to meet her tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a lonnggg day.
