(Mia's POV)

"Mia breath!" I heard, but I felt as if I were being pulling through a tight tube, until I took a deep breath. I gasped and quickly looked around.

"Hey, hey, you're okay." I looked up at Levi, as I tried to steady my breathing, he helped me sit up, and I looked around, and only saw Manny.

"What happened...?"

"She started to say things, none of them really making sense." explained Manny, as he rubbed his face, looking at me as if he didn't know who I was.

"So what she said....it's true isn't it?"

Manny took a deep breath, but nodded.

"Why, didn't anybody tell me?"

"Why would we, MJ, you were happy, we were happy, why were we going to ruin that?"

A flash of something hit me again, the cries of a baby echoed through my mind.

"What happened to...my parents, where did you find me?"

"Where: I have no idea but you were pulled out of a car crash, your mother...died on impact, the Tahoe, rolled and you were the only one still alive, your father never came forward, you were in the hospital, maybe a year old at the time, Mom says the angels told her, you needed us..."

He looked away, wiping tears from his eyes, I wanted to go over and hug, my big brother, but I felt like if I tried he'd reject me. So I stayed where I was.

"Manny, I'm still me, I'm still your little sister."

"I wish I could believe that, Mia, I really do, but I'm not sure..."

He was disgusted with me, he wouldn't even look at me anymore, carefully I got to my feet, Levi, tried to stop me, I shook my head and walked toward the man I had known as my big brother, he scooped away, as I got close, that was my answer. I just nodded, showing him I understood. I took my apartment key, but dropped my truck keys on the coffee table, then looked at Levi, and we headed to the door.

"I'm sorry to be such a disappointment to all of you, I won't bother you ever again, but thank you for everything." I said and walked out of the house I had grown up in, and walked out into the darkness. I walked toward the truck, and grabbed my bag, Levi grabbed his, and we started to walk along the road.

For a good half mile, we didn't talk just walked in silence. After a while I couldn't feel my legs anymore from the cold.

"Mia, we can stop for a while, catch our breaths."

"If I stop, I'm going to start crying, Levi, and I don't want to."

He nodded but then pulled me off the road and into the hills, into a small sitting place in the side of the hill, he collected twigs and moss, soon had a fire going, we sat down, on the stone floor, and he sat on the other side, giving me space. I looked into the flames, and the same image from before played in front of my eyes. I felt like my head wanted to split, and I shook it to make myself stop thinking.

"This whole time...my whole life has been a lie."

"I honestly don't think so, they gave you a good life, Mia, why is that a lie?"

"I'm not being ungrateful, they gave me a good life, but they never told me anything, how do I know my father wasn't out there looking for me?"

"Or maybe your Mom was a single mom and no father to know about."

"Levi!...."

"Hey, I'm trying to help."

"Then what did they mean by, they found her, who found me, if they didn't know about wolves, how do they know who they were?"

Levi looked at me.

"What?"

"I'm thinking who...who was your mother?"

I groaned in frustration and fell back on the stone floor, I looked up at the stars, as if they'd give me the answer to my question. All I got was the distant howls of coyotes, the sound sounded lonely until the others howled along.

"Levi?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you thought about Andrew's offer?" I asked looking at him.

"Honestly, not to be a part of his pack, but I feel so lost without one, I'd like to know how it really is to be in one."

I guess I was waiting to see what he'd say, but i wanted to learn too.

"Once we get back we'll call them."

He nodded but looked somewhere behind me, I turned and saw Eve, and Jen running toward me, well, Eve waddling her little belly being too much already. They both hugged me, and Andy and Robert came up at the end.

"What are you guys doing out here?" I asked looking around at them.

"We came for you two." answered, to my surprise, Ronan.

"How did you..." I started but looked back at Levi, " you called them?"

"Yeah."

He got to his feet and gave the guys a hug along with the girls, it was so weird but this was normal for them.

"And if you're serious about asking my father for help, it would be good, if you had a bit of a pack already going."

I looked at Levi and felt proud that he had thought about this.

"So, M, what do you say?" Levi asked pointing toward everyone, I gave one last glance at everyone, and I nodded.

"I would be proud to be a part of this pack, yes."

"Then let's get this party started." said Andy, and they lead the way to the truck they had brought. We were headed into a new path.

A Week Later.

After we got home, we called Andrew and Jasmine, Levi told them we didn't want to join, but would like to understand the ways of our kind a little better, and to help us get our little pack going, they were hesitant at first, but when Robert spoke up, Andrew agreed, and things started to get things going. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be so easy, the guys had to fight to be sure where they stood on the dominate latter, they had to be sure Levi was the wolf to be in charge, we had to watch as the guys fought, this part seemed to be the only thing, Marcus had taught Levi, Levi was strong and definitely dominate. Then came for Levi to fight and see who would be his second and his third in command.

Sadly, for Andy, he was third and Robert was second, it was strange but I felt like Robert was more trust worthy, then Andy he seemed to take things a little too lightly, what surprised me even more that the guys were okay, with this.

But with Levi being the Alpha that would make me the Luna of the pack, and I had no idea what that really meant, but just like when an alpha is picked so is the Luna, but Eve was pregnant and human, and Jen human, so I couldn't challenge anyone, I had to challenge an other she wolf, there was only Jasmine, which I wasn't fighting for her place, so it had to be someone else who was wanting to be Luna.

To my horror, Jen came up with one.

"What about Rosa?"

"You do realize if Rosa beats me, she'll be your new Luna and Levi's mate..."

"For no it wouldn't ..."

"Unfortunately, in the case of the Alpha and Luna, yes that's true, Levi would have to reject, Mia and take Rosa as his mate and Luna."

"But why?"

"Because, Mia is wolf, if she were human, she'd be exempt from the rules, but sense she is wolf, she'll have to fight along side Levi, when needed."

The girls and I looked at Jasmine, but it was what it was, but it got worse.

"Why do we need to be separated?"

"The guys have to get the idea of what a team is, and this way Jasmine trains you a little more." explained Andrew. I looked at Levi and he nodded, I sighed, and did the same.

This whole month was interesting, the wolves in Jasmine's pack had always had a wolf as Luna, so they knew how to act around me, respectful and well, mannered. So it wasn't hard, Jasmine taught me how the chain worked.

"Robert is his right hand, and Andy his left, but you are the heart of the pack, apart from toughness, you make sure of showing where your pack stands, standards, your values, and customs, every pack is different."

"So for example Marcus?"

"He's stunned, his father lead his pack tough, women weren't super important but they weren't nothing, Marcus's father always made sure his son, knew how to choose, but I guess things didn't work out that way."

"Do you know what happened between Marcus and Levi's mother?"

I dared ask, but Jasmine shook her head.

"No, I just know that she wasn't the Luna the pack needed."

"Why?"

"She wasn't strong willed, and sometimes that's what a pack needs, Marcus's definitely did."

With that she then explained where my "place" was, I was to be my mate's consult, his ear of his worries of his pack, his back up if he was wounded or unable to lead.

Jasmine, always told me that I had to give myself my place among the pack, didn't matter if it was to women or men, that chance came when some wolves came to the house, where Jasmine Lived and we were staying, Jasmine walked outside to meet them, but I walked behind her.

"We're looking for Levi Barrett."

"What for?" asked Jasmine.

"We all just left his father's pack, and heard he was getting his own put together."

Jasmine looked at me, I nodded and walked forward, there was five of them and I recognized some of them from the night I was attacked.

"Line up." I said looked up at the guy that had spoken, nobody moved, suddenly and without thinking I grabbed the one that had spoken, punched him hard in the stomach, once on the ground I kicked him a couple times, then with the force of my wolf I kicked him into the others.

"Line Up!" I ordered loudly. Everyone moved into a line, once in a line, I looked them over, two of them were a little older, thirties early forties, the other three were closer to my age, the two older looked pretty banged up, the younger ones looked scratch free. As I walked in front of one of them, he grabbed me by the throat.

"You are a real, bitch, aren't you?" he said and I recognized him as one that had kicked me, until I lost my baby, but something made me pity him, he was in a lot of pain. I looked at him right into his eyes, he gasped, but looked away.

"You know what you did that night, and it haunts you, he's done it to you hasn't he?"

"Shut up...you know nothing!" he said tightening the grip on my throat, I put a hand on his.

"It's because of him, that I lost MY baby, you couldn't fight his order, and I don't hold it against you, I forgive you....Justin."

His eyes were back to mine, how had I known his name, I'm not even sure, but I felt a bond, just like Jasmine explained, some would be my friends and others would just be soldiers. He dropped to the ground on his knees, in tears, I hugged him, and he just shook.

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean...I didn't want..."

"It's done, and over." I told him and he hugged me. After a while, he stood up, nodded, showing me respect, the others were a little more leveled, not so high and mighty any more. Jasmine, told a few of her pack to take them to get something to eat and a place to rest.

"That was....wow, the way you handled the situation....truly inspiring."

"Thanks."

"We'll have to see what Levi thinks, once he gets back."

"Won't have to wait long they'll be back tomorrow."
