The Sentinel of Vanity

Aspen's shattered body fell to the snow-covered floor in the form of unrecognizable shards and chunks of ice. Like severely over-sized hail, they fell to the ground and clattered before dissipating into bright light like it never existed in the first place. The webs it made similarly disappeared, and out from the fading light, an unidentified floating trianglular object emerged.

It was in the shape of a tetrahedron, and from the bottom side of its base, several tendrils waved, emitting icy white particles. They weren't unlike a squid's legs in terms of shape, except instead of being made out of raw flesh, they were made of tiny white squares that lined up one after another to create lines. On one of the tetrahedron's faces, a single optic sensor lay embedded in the titanium that it was made out of, and marked the drone's front side.

"… Vanity," Lust said, flying over to it. "Long time no see."
