Chapter 6: She didn't know why they were usually at loggerheads.

"Kira, I.." Sara didn't know where to start from in order to give an explanation but she knew that her bestie was annoyed.

For a reason or reasons unknown to Sara, Kira and Taylor were always cursing at each other each time they met. One was her best friend and the other her boyfriend. She did not know who to support and why the duo were usually at loggerheads.

"Kira, I will ask him. But I'm sure he didn't delete those messages. He is not like that."

"Vixen! I wonder why you are still with him", Kira said. Her best friend was a playgirl. She dated boys not more than three weeks. Then she broke up for different senseless reasons like, 'You didn't wear my favorite color today so let's break up' or ' Why didn't you visit me riding your bicycle? I'm tired! " And the boys won't say anything in defense. They all knew who she was. Although she was a playgirl, she never had any intimate contact with her boyfriends. The least she did was leaning in their embrace with their arms round her shoulders or waist. According to her, she wanted to enjoy the fun of relationships; she will go shopping with her boyfriend, go to the cinema together, go to the amusement park and play games together, watch the stars together and many more. The person with whom she had the longest relationship with was Taylor, a relationship of about three months.

Kira did not actually hate Taylor but she hated the fact that the guy was so possessive of her best friend and hardly allowed her (Sara) around her (Kira). While he disliked the fact that Sara was closer to Kira than him. Thus, the regular argument each time they met.

"Vixen, I saved my new number in your phone the last time we met at France"

" But I don't think I saw it... "

The impatient and annoyed Kira dialed Sara's number and soon, the best friends heard the monotone voice of a female robot saying that the person was busy; a sign that someone blocked Kira's number. And since Sara would not have done that for whatever reason, the only suspect was Taylor.

Summer had arrived and everywhere reeked of heat and the harsh sun. Kira sat in the gazebo, holding a big bowl of strawberry flavored ice cream while her friend while Sara sat opposite her licking a vanilla flavored popsicle.

"Kira, are you sure you can finish that big bowl of ice cream?!", Sara asked with disbelief.

"Of course, dear", she replied with a bulging mouth.

" Aren't you afraid of getting fat? That's right. No matter what you eat you never add weight unlike me", Sara mumbled, sounding envious. "How about exchanging our bodies?", she added, seemingly excited of her idea.

"Hell no!! I still want to enjoy my fries, my ice cream, my cheese and other sumptuous meals". Kira quickly retorted, hugging her bowl of ice cream in her arms. Before, Sara could say anything, a phone rang.

"That's mine", Sara uttered. On seeing the call ID her face turned pale. "It's my step-mom".

"Hello, good mor..." Before she could complete her greeting, her step mother interrupted.

"Sara, your dad had an accident. And right now, he is in the emergency room. Rush to the Keth's private airport now. A jet is waiting for you", the woman's voice was tinted with worry, concern and fear.

"Sara, please I need you here", the elderly woman's quivering voice pleaded though the phone. On hearing the sad and unexpected news, Sara's face became paler. "Alright", was all she could say as the call ended.

"Kira, I ... I ..."

"Don't worry. Go. He will be fine"

Sara on hearing her friend's consolation bursted into tears. "Yes, he... my dad will be fine. He... He hasn't seen... seen me succeed in life yet".

"That's right, vixen. The Keth's private airport is two streets away. Let's go"

Kira watched as the jet taxied away and into the sky. Lowering her head slightly, she made a short prayer, praying for the safety of Sara's journey and her (Sara's) father.
