One Year
A couple of days later.
Luke was fully dedicated to practicing new skills involving the earth element, he was gaining a lot of skills, but after doing another one which was using the ground to create a dirt sword and covering it with qi, then slicing a tree with it, he got a message.

After practicing your earth element you have gained mastery in it, all basic qi earth skills will come easier, and you won't have individual earth skills. Figure out what to name them yourself!

"NICE! I got some mastery in it, although the last comment is questionable I'll take it."
After gaining his new skill Luke realized he was getting hungry and decided to go hunting.
After Luke went hunting in the forest for a bit, he came back with fresh fox meat. He then went into the house he built for the worm.
"Sorry to interrupt you, but we gotta make some food", Luke was grinning because it was his first time eating cooked food in a while, although he could cook some of his food, he was busy training, and eating raw meat didn't affect him because he was a cultivator.
"Mother tree I can make it for you while you keep on training."
"No, it's fine we can make it together, plus I just had a breakthrough in my training", Luke was expecting to end it there but he just made it worse.
"That's great mother tree! Since you have worked so hard I'll make you some food you just sit at the table and wait for me to finish."
Luke was tired of being treated like a princess, although it might feel good for some people to get served whatever they wanted, Luke was different, he wanted to earn what he got or make it himself. Luke decided it was time to draw a line.
"Listen dude, you can stop calling me mother tree, for now on, call me by my name, Luke. Also, stop treating me like I'm a 6-year-old kid, I can do things for you and you can do things for me, for now on we're friends. I don't serve you, and you don't me, but we help each other out."
The mechanic was speechless, yet moved, he didn't think he would get treated in this way by the mother tree, no Luke, "Yes mother- I mean Luke, for now on we're...friends."
"Alright, that's more like it! Now are you gonna stay over there staring at me or are we gonna cook some meat?"
The mechanic and Luke then gathered next to the oven and such and started to cook.
After dinner, the mechanic got back to work, and Luke was kicked outside, 'Guess he's getting used to the friend thing, well now that I can't stay there at night I need to make my own house so I can cultivate peacefully.'
After thinking of that he got to work and after working on it for a while he made another log cabin next to the mechanic's, it was the same overall, minus the working stations. After which Luke decided on a plan for now on, he was to cultivate for one day and then train his earth skills for one day, after deciding on that cycle he started cultivating. Soon enough a year passed.

One year later.
Luke had been practicing his earth skills and cultivating for a year now, and although his basic qi earth master never evolved, his cultivation was going up slowly but steady, also in the time he was practicing he asked the system if he could see the max amount of qi he could use before not being able to use anymore, and of course, it costed gene points, he eventually got it and was very satisfied with it, he also wasn't getting any quests. Luke also wasn't very involved with his gene point situation, he didn't want to eat any of the creatures in the forest for qi points because...well...THEY'RE ALL TOO WEAK!

'Although I'm not at the advanced spirit realm, I also have the ruby axe that is in the peak spirit realm which sounds better than the former, so it should be enough to balance it out. I think it's time I break this stupid barrier', Luke was excited to break it, he had been cooped up in the forest for more than 10 years! He was more than ready to leave, of course, he didn't forget his friend, the mechanic.
Luke opened to door to his house and started speaking, "Hey what's up, so I'm thinking we finally bust out of this place, what do you think?"
"You mean the barrier?! If you can break it then by all means go ahead I'll follow you where ever you go."
After he said this he asked the system an important question, 'System can living things enter my storage?' Luke had been using his gene points towards unlocking the next storage point for a while and recently he got it, he had been planning to put the worm in it when he escaped.
'The host can put living beings in his storage, but they're two requirements. First, the being must consent to go in, and second, they must be half your size or less.'
'Alright, the worm fits both.'
"Hey worm get in my storage, don't worry you won't die."
"Alright I trust you but how do I get in?" Luke then opened the storage and told the worm to touch it, then he disappeared, and then he pulled him back out.
"There is oxygen right?" The worm nodded in response then jumped back in.
'Alright, let's go and break this barrier.'
1* This means active and passive, in this example, it is passive because he can do it easier and it is active because he is actively using it when he creates earth pillars and such.
