Affinity Check

(A*N* qi and spiritual energy are the same things in this world, so they can be replaced with each other.)

Luke and the blue squid whale were going towards the direction in the east, very slowly.

After what seemed like a couple of years they finally reached their destination, what Luke saw surprised him, it was a luscious coral reef area. The reef was vibrant and beautiful, and there were fish all over the coral reef, all of their aura combined was frightening. Luke had an idea about what was going on, 'So this must be the promised team...there are so many! If this whale wasn't keeping them in this coral reef area I doubt I would survive. As for the hidden coral reef spot, it was probably my neighborhood-friendly whale.'

'You are correct dragon, I was the reason you were not able to find any plants in this area. I have taken all of the plants in the barrier area and placed them here. Although I didn't let some in, plants similar to that rainbow seaweed you fought. As for why I did it there is an obvious reason, spiritual energy. The plants on the land and in the sea are the reason why qi exists on this planet in the first place, so when you gather a lot of plants in the same place, especially strong ones, it creates richer spiritual energy.

Let this be your first lesson in common sense. The more plants gathered in an area, the more dangerous that place is, but that also means the gains will be better as well. There are certain areas that cultivators call danger zones. Danger zones aren't places with a lot of plants, nor extremely powerful monsters. Danger zones are places with unique characteristics that set them apart from the rest, for example, the icy tundra. This danger zone is a place with an extremely icy climate, the stronger you are the colder it is. Your cold resistance doesn't matter because it will just make it colder for you, but people are greedy creatures, they would go there anyways in search of treasure, but no one has ever come back from the icy tundra.

With your long life as a dragon, you will find danger zones that people may have not even discovered before. When you do find one don't explore it, don't be greedy, and let your desires control you. Although some cultivators have toppled danger zones, they were extremely lucky. Thus end your first lesson.

Luke was listening to the whale with a lot of concentration and the more he talked the more questions he had, 'Why do plants give off qi? Can I use plants to rapidly gain qi? How are danger zones formed? What did the people who beat the danger zones gain?' Luke was forced to save those questions for later as a large crowd had formed in front of him and the whale while he was talking to Luke.

"Hello fish, I have brought a new companion for us to defeat the humans, and don't judge him by his cultivation realm he is a strong ally and will continue to grow stronger in the next half a year before the humans attack once again. I will be teaching him personally, treat him as your superior."

After addressing Luke the whale gave a speech to the fish to get them more pumped up for the coming fight, and while he was doing it Luke noticed something about the whale, he was a very crafty whale. He used his words carefully and always was in control of the crowd. Luke had to be warry of the whale even though he is teaching him. Luke had also figured out a way to keep qi over his mind permanently so that the whale couldn't read his thoughts.

When the whale finished his speech he went towards the training area. After a little bit, they had reached it. The so-called 'training area' was just a large cave in the ground, although Luke was a little mad about it he didn't care much, it would get the job done.

"Alright dragon what is your name?"

"My name is Luke."

"Alright Luke, training session one begins now, the first one is important because we will be looking at what element or elements you have an affinity with."

"Affinity?"

"Yes you heard me correctly, affinity is like a gatekeeper to the element if you have a connection with the element it will allow you the use the element you want. Also, don't get too happy if you have more than one element, although you will be more versatile you won't be able to get as much mastery if you only had one element, except a couple of special cases. Anyways show me the elements you can use right now."

Luke then did what he always did and sent a water blade into the wall, but to his surprise, he was only able to scratch it. Next Luke sent an earth spike into the roof only for the spike to crack and then crumble.

"Interesting, now let's see what other affinities you have." Although the whale seemed calm he was extremely confused, 'He used the qi in his body? The correct and efficient way of doing it is using the qi around you, yet he already has strength with the elements to this level, what a monster of a dragon.' The whale then took one of his tentacles and touched Luke in the middle of his chest.

Luke then felt a warm sensation spread throughout his body from his chest, like when his mother used to send him off to school with a hug. It felt like someone giving you warm and unconditional love. It didn't last long though because soon after he heard the whale yell in surprise.

"You have an affinity with all of the elements?!?!"
