Hellish Training (1)

Luke was left standing in the room when the mermaid disappeared, and after brainstorming about what she said, he looked down and saw what the mermaid left for him. It looked like a scale, Luke used inspect on it.

Luke didn't get any info from the inspect, but he was sure it was a treasure, so he threw it into his storage, he had an extra slot when he ate the cultivation pill during his 6 months of training in the ocean.

When Luke put the scale in his storage all of a sudden a bright light with a shade of green shone in his face and when he came back to, he was in the cave. No one else was in the cave, once Luke started to sit down and wait for the whale to come into the cave, he realized how tired he was, and drifted to sleep.

When Luke came to he was still inside of the cave, and a big whale was in front of him.

"Ah, you're awake, good. You finally came back from goofing off somewhere and then when you came back you fell asleep, you should respect me more, I am your mentor after all."

"Sorry, I was just really tired after using the swimming bullet technique a lot."

"It doesn't matter, I have to teach you someone else now so it isn't any time for me to help you find your manners."

"Are you going to teach me another technique teacher?"

"Nope!"

"What? Then why are you even here?"

"I'm not gonna be teaching you any fancy technique, instead I'm gonna teach you something very important for when you are fighting, experience. You're gonna be fighting me for the next couple of weeks."

Luke was surprised, but he quickly adapted to what the whale said, he was after all a strong monster. If he was able to defeat him in combat then he would most definitely be able to defeat the cultivators.

"Alright, we begin...NOW!"

The whale then swung a tentacle at Luke and he was able to put a force field up in time, unlike last time the whale attacked him. When the tentacle hit Luke's force field, contrary to Luke's expectations, it shattered like a rock hitting a vase.

"If you want to even come close to beating me, your gonna need to put a lot more of your qi into your force fields!"

Luke didn't know that if he used more qi when spreading it to the water qi that he would be able to make a stronger force field, but he quickly listened to the whale's warning. He used about 25 of his qi instead of the normal 5 when making the force field this time, and when the whale hit the force field with his tentacle, the force field only cracked a little bit.

'It worked! It doesn't matter that much though, I need to start attacking. If I just stand here I'll be as good as a sitting duck, offense is the best defense after all', Luke then repaired where the whale hit his force field and ran over to the whale, but the whale wasn't just gonna watch Luke take the advantage.

The whale quickly reverted his tentacle and shot it at Luke, but at the last second Luke dodged the tentacle by pushing him with a water current. After that Luke did something that he had thought of after learning the water gun technique, water bullets. He made the water qi around him shape into a bullet and shot about ten of the bullets at the whale, but he knew they wouldn't do much damage, so he used more qi he normally would, about 10 per bullet.

He shot the bullets with a bang, although they weren't coming out of a gun, they were still extremely fast, and when they were about to hit the whale, Luke felt something hit his fin. When he looked over to see what hit it, all he saw was a tentacle where the fin should be and he soon realized that his fin was ripped off by the tentacle. He became numb with pain and shock.

"Did you really think that this was just all fun and games? This is a real fight, I won't kill you, but I certainly will hurt you."

Luke's tone shifted after he heard that from the whale and he quickly tensed up. When he looked over at the water bullets to see the damage they caused, all he saw was a couple of dark spots on the whale's skin.

'Shit.'

Luke then felt three more unbearable pains at his other fin and his split tale, he had quickly lost his limbs and passed out.

Luke woke up with a cold sweat, and when he did he immediately looked at his fins and tail, he was relieved when he saw that they were still there, "I guess that it was all a dream."

"No it wasn't, I just let you have a little rest. We will begin the battle once again as soon as possible...so right now!"

Luke then saw the same tentacle that ripped his fins off before and immediately made a force field that had extra qi in it than normal. When the tentacle hit the force field it wobbled a little bit, but it didn't crack this time. Luke was scared that he would have to go through that pain again, but he soon sucked it up and decided that he would dedicate all of himself to this training, and try his hardest.

After making a mental agreement that he would give it all to himself, he quickly set up a water gun with his technique, faster than he had ever done it before, and shot himself at the whale with all of his might. He was ready for hellish training.
