Thirty-Four

Ash and Snow sat in lounge chairs next to the indoor pool watching Ellis’s physical therapy session with Romi.

“How have we not been down here before?” Snow asked.

“Too busy with other shenanigans.” Ash replied.

“Well, I can see why Alan likes coming here so often. This is much better than the beach.” She said as a maid handed her a cup.

“Oh I didn’t realize so many people were down here.”

Snow and Ash turned to see Alexandra standing at the pool’s entrance.

“Come on in, there’s plenty of pool for everyone.” Romi said as Ellis finished a lap.

“Come sit with us Lexi.” Ash beckoned.

Alexandra complied and sat next to Ash. “How you holdin’ up kiddo?” Ash asked.

“I’m okay, I guess.”

“Are you at least excited about the party tomorrow?” Snow asked. “Seriously so far convincing you guys to have fun has been like pulling teeth.”

“Well, it’s just that…I was hoping I’d have a date to the party, but…I’ve been too scared to ask out the guy I like.” Alexandra admitted.
