Chapter 22 You Are Very Smart

"I understand."

Grace Gordon lowered her eyes, her tone neither humble nor arrogant, indifferent and cold.

"Nine-thirty tomorrow morning, I need you to come to the hospital to apologize to my mom."

"I know."

After hanging up the phone, Grace looked at Stanhope Brown again, feeling that he wouldn't say any more. Just like Stanhope said, Grace was smart, so she knew... that sentence 'you are smart, you will understand' had already ended this topic.

Grace's lips hurt, her throat hurt... and her chest hurt too. She did not inquire further but stubbornly stood up and said to Lewis Yale: "Mr. Secretary of State... I have to leave first."

"The car hasn't arrived yet..."

"It's okay, I can walk back by myself!" Grace had no intention of accepting Lewis's kindness.

As soon as Grace's words fell, Stanhope reached out and grabbed her wrist, gently pulling her to his side.
