It's A Warning Not a Threat

To be honest, reading on the first technique wasn't actually that bad like I had expected.

For some reason the techniques seemed familiar but I guess it's because I'm starting to understand it and it all had to do with me paying extra attention to its content.

My master finally showed me the one on three stance techniques and made his steps slow so I could study every move.

It was my turn to try as he handed me a sword. I took a deep breath and walked to the center of the courtyard, just like in the book.

A one on three stance was a hard technique, if I wasn't careful mastering it, it would give the opponent a better chance of gaining the first hit.

Just like my master I readied myself in the right stance, calculating each move in my head. I swung my blade forward making sure my movements rhymed with the pace I followed, my master's eyes, observing me very carefully and I wondered if I made any mistakes or not. He hasn't stopped me yet so maybe...

"Pause" he uttered and I stopped, he walked up to me observing my posture and I tried to remain still.

"No problem for now, you seem to get the stance perfectly and the move you just tried taking is good too but remember, you should be a lot more faster in your pace when it comes to attack, so your opponent doesn't end up knowing your move beforehand, the tables could turn on you so...."

He went on, making sure I got the idea and when I tried once more, I quickened my pace and lunged an attack at him but he wasted no time clashing his sword with mine.

"Nice try but I'm too advanced for such techniques."

I drew back my blade. "I was just testing the moves out, I had to read a book about it so I deserve to give it a go."

Before he could reply which I could sense to be a scolding coming, a high groaning sound came from the gate as it creaked open.

It caught our attention and we instantly glanced at the gate.

What I saw next was a little girl who had a huge grin on her face as she walked in, her dark hair tied in a ponytail and also dressed in a white cultivators robe.

"Uncle Qui Shan." she called out, I turned to look at my master who looked really perplexed by her presence, like he wasn't expecting the little one to show up at all.

"Of course, why didn't I expect her to show up." he muttered while the little girl came running to him and he carried her affectionately in his arms.

"You sneaky little being, I see you escaped training again." my master calmly said to her and she giggled.

"Uncle Qui, I told you I'd come see you if you came back so when I heard, I had to trick father so I could come over." she childishly said with an innocent smile on her pretty face, reminding me of the drop of sunshine on a cloudy day.

"So you fulfilled your promise."

She nodded. "So now Uncle Qui has to give me some cakes to keep my promise."

Lord Qui tsked. "I'll give you your cake but not now, uncle has to be somewhere important, when I come back I'll come see you and hand you your cake."

"Awwww, isn't my cake more important than where you have to go?" She hit him with puppy dog eyes wanting to change his mind.

If I was in his place, I definitely won't be able to resist such a face.

"Uhm Lord Qui, if you want I can help you get cakes for the little one." I said and noticed the little girl's big blue eyes brightened once more. Lord Qui dropped her to her feet and she ran up to me.

"You must be Shanxia, am I right?" she asked and I gazed at her, surprised she knew my name.

"Do you know me?" the question escaped my lips before I even realized what I just asked, she looks at least four years old, she couldn't possibly know me.

"No but I did hear uncle Qui got his disciple back so I came over to see both of you."

Lord Qui raised his brow at her. "I thought you only came for cakes."

The minute he said it, the little one chuckled lightly knowing she's been caught. "And that too, but senior Shanxia here will help me get cakes."

I stared at her blankly, the little one sure is friendly, at least she doesn't give me those stares.

"Shanxia, meet Youlan, Baozhi's daughter." he introduced. My eyes widened in surprise at the mention of Baozhi, Baozhi's daughter? That was really nice to hear.

"I want my cake, let's go now." Youlan kept whining to herself as she held my hand wanting to drag me to the main gate.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her childish act. I wondered if I also acted this way when I was a child.

I met my master's gaze and he gave a slight nod of approval. I smiled and held the little one's hand in mine.

"Let's go get you those cakes okay?"

"Yes!"

We left my masters hall together, the minute we stepped out of the hall, a group of girls also showed up, standing in front of us leaving us baffled.

Their beauty was completely out of this world, unlike me they were dressed in very exquisite gowns which brought out their lovely curves. The little one didn't look happy to see them.

"Can't you greet or do you now lack manners after losing your memories?" the girl in the middle snarled at me, she had that look in her eyes that reminded me of the same look I got from the rest of the people.

"Just cause I didn't greet you isn't enough for you to prove I lack manners but do forgive me.'' Before I could get a chance to offer my politeness, she raised her hand, shutting me up.

"I don't need your greetings, they'll bring nothing but curses into my peaceful life."

Her words caught me off guard and I didn't understand a word she said. First she tells me I lack manners for not offering my greetings and when I tried to give her that respect, she slaps it back at my face?

"Why did you come back? you are not needed in Mount Xuandu, I really do not know why Master Qui decided to bring you back, he should have just let you rot in that cave!" she was glaring straight at me now with hatred in her eyes. For the fact I really do not remember anything including her, can't she at least try to be a little more polite?

"Hey don't bully senior Shanxia!" the little one said leaving me stunned as she stood in front of me, the lady glared at her and pushed the little one out of the way making her fall to the floor, I gasped at the sight.

"Stubborn headed as always, learn to keep your mouth shut!" she scolded the little one and that's when I had it, she didn't have the right to intimidate me or Youlan, it was easy to tell she was of high status.

"Pardon me but you clearly need to go get some manners before lecturing others about it." I snapped. "I may not have any recollection of my past but I won't give you the chance to belittle me, I don't know you and I could never mingle with people like you. Clearly you don't deserve any politeness from me, I only give it to those who earn it."

She blinked at me, stunned by my response and I watched her face suddenly crease into anger.

"How dare you!"

She tried to make the first move by lunging an attack but I moved out of the way, what she didn't realize was that her little move would end up backfiring on her as I set my legs forward making her trip and down the floor she goes.

The little one suddenly bursted into laughter as she got to her feet.

"Senior Shanxia made the bully fall hard to the floor!" she laughed and I could swear it ate up the lady so bad as her little pests went to get her back up to her feet.

The little one rushed over to me and I held her hand once more.

"Also, it's not so nice to push a little girl like that, imagine what master Baozhi would do to you if he finds out you pushed his daughter for certainly no reason."

Although she tried to hide it, I didn't miss the colors that drained from her face at the mention of Baozhi.

"I might not remember anything but don't forget I'm not a fool, I won't stand by and watch you try to hurt us so do remember this. Don't mess with us, it's a warning not a threat."

With that, I walked out with the little one trying to still her laughter. She might have been rude but yet again how could I have run into someone like her, I just hope she stays away.
