Arawn

Feeling the realm no longer has an owner I look down at the humanoids still trapped in their nightmares. 'Perfect test subjects' I think to myself.

Before anything, I feel the realm out to see if I should take control of it. What I feel confuses me, Dormammu had been controlling the realm's chaotic energy to keep them from growing wildly. It seems like it was too late though, life had already started to grow.

If left undevoured this realm will start birthing celestials. That means Galactus will soon appear and start feasting. I don't feel like starting trouble with the big boy so I'll just leave this realm unclaimed.

Instead, I'll move them to the place one of my Lords has been working on. It's been over 1900 years since I went into rebirth so he has to be done by now. Avalon will be the only city in the underworld and the connector to the living.

Flying down to the floating island closest to me I stare at the still screaming creatures. I snap my finger and they begin to awaken from their eternal nightmare. Some of them hop to their feet others stay on the ground crying.

I look at one standing close to me "Can you speak?"

He backs away in fear as he realizes it's me and looks around for Dormammu. He nods as he speaks up "A-are we free?"

I shake my head "No, now you have a new ruler."

He looks a bit scared "That would be you?"

Looking at the others who are starting to get up I begin to judge "Yes, but no. You will serve one of my Hell Lords, Arawn."

Seeing that most of them have gotten up by now I speak loudly "Now take me to where you live, I'll need to speak with your people."

They have defiance in their eyes and one a bit further away speaks up "I'd rather die than betray my people."

I smirk "Then you will be the one to lead me there." I speak with Pride "Lead me to your home."

In formation, they turn like mindless zombies and fly off. I follow behind as we fly through the twisting purple wastes of clouds and floating islands. After a few hours of flying an island a hundred times bigger than any of the ones before.

Once we get above it I can see the walls of stone with a sprawling city full of stone buildings of varying sizes. Once we land outside the gates the bells ring and yelling echoes from inside the city.

Only a few seconds of just standing and staring the flies have already started lining the walls pointing their weapons at me. Releasing the ones who guided me from my grip I amplify my voice with Pride addressing those in the city and on the walls.

"Dormammu is dead. Today you will all follow me and be relocated to a new realm. Those who refuse will die. Those who resist will die. Those who serve will be rewarded." The ones on the walls look between each other while the ones near me struggle to get their breath back. Flying nonstop for hours will do that to you.

The gates open revealing a man who is wearing robes much like a priest or monk would with a hood. He slowly walks forward stopping only a few feet away. Now that he is closer I can see his face under the hood, he is elderly with age showing like wrinkled bark.

"What makes you any different than Dormammu? I will not watch my people suffer again under a tyrant." His crackly voice fills the silence.

"I will not rule you old man. That will be the job of my subordinate, perhaps the only one of my subordinates that has a good reputation. However, the way you speak makes it sound like this is a choice… it is not." My voice becomes sharps.

The old man lets out a deep sigh "May we at least meet him before deciding to die or not?"

I rub my chin as I think, 'He makes a good point. This will decide the fate of his species. Not that I care but I'm sure Arawn would like to finally have a city as he requested.'

I nod my head "Sure, knock yourself out." I raise my right hand and speak "Tha do rìgh gad chreidsinn" a red light emanates from the ground as you can hear whispers surrounding us.

From the red light, a man slowly raises from the ground. He has raven black hair with a noble face covered in dark blue traditional tattoos. He wears a fur vest with scale mail sown into it and tough leather pants.

Seeing me a grin appears on his face. He lowers himself slightly on a knee "I had almost thought the King had forgotten me."

"Of course I wouldn't, I have even brought you a gift." I gesture at the city. "This realm will soon be destroyed, leaving all these people homeless and dead. I have given them the offer to move to Avalon instead."

He smiles wider and lowers his head a bit "I have to thank my King. Although I have decided to make it an island city with the island being named Avalon. The city itself will be named Tir Na Nog."

I nod "Fitting name 'Land of Eternal Youth'... fitting indeed." I gesture over to the old man who was watching our interaction in silence. "Speak to him about it when you come to a conclusion use this." I wave a hand at the forest opposite the city is instantly decimated by flames.

Once the fire clears it reveals a path of burns on the ground making a pentagram the size of a small town.

"Now if that's all I have a date with a beautiful woman," I smirk as I spread my wings ready to go back.

"Wait, my King," Arawn says standing near the old man now.

My eyebrows raise "Yes?"

"This may be presumptuous but my wife and I worked hard making the city of Tir Na Nog. We even cleared out a place where you could move your palace, or make a new one. We would like to request you to visit the city to see what an undying city is like." He says with a genuine smile.

I think for a second before I smile "Yes, I'll visit. I'll also put a palace there to keep my consorts there. Much better than my lonely palace."

He gives a small bow "Thank you."

I nod my head to acknowledge him then vanish.
