Jason Todd

"Do you have something of his? Preferably with blood?" The doctor asks looking at Nightwing.

Nightwing nods, "I can do you one better." Reaching into his belt pocket he grabs out a clear vial full of a red liquid, blood.

My eyes narrow as I give him an odd look, "Why do you even have that?"

He shrugs, "I thought you might need a piece of him to revive him. But since he is alive that is out the window."

I wave off his words, "I need no such thing, with a soul, I fully recreate a life in its entirety with little effort."

"Well, now I know… Wait, can you bring back my parents?"

"I don't think that would be for the best, but you can go visit them in hell if you like. I moved them from the Asphodel Fields to Empyrean the moment you signed the contract."

His eyes widen as he looks at me seriously, "They were in hell?"

"Well, of course, no one enters Heaven but the old ones chosen and I have yet to meet one since returning."

Nightwings head falls as he tosses the vial to Doctor Morbius, "We can talk about this later."

I shrug as the doctor takes a large whiff of the blood-filled vial, "He is in Arkham Asylum, a mile or so north."

Anger passes Nighwings face, "Then we should get going, are you coming as well Lucifer? Or should I call you my King?"

"Call me what you wish, and yes I will be tagging along, sounds entertaining."

With a grunt, Nightwing stands up grabbing a communicator from his belt, "Bats you there?"

"Bats is out right now, what do you need Robin?" A young man- no a child's voice responds to Nightwing.

"Tim? What are you doing in the Bat Cave?"

"Well, DICK, it's Red Robin now, and I'm just watching the place while the Bats is out." Rage that can't be hidden by his small mask crosses Nightwing's face.

"When Batman returns tell him I found Jason, he can come if he wants to." His words try to mask his anger as he turns away from me.

"JASON IS A-" Before the boy can finish his words Nightwing crushes the communicator and drops the pieces on the ground.

With a solemn gaze, he turns back around, "Let's go."

"How fast can you run doctor?"

Doctor Morbius looks baffled at the question, "I don't know?"

"Well learn quickly."

I smile at the pure emotions of my knight, "Open your mouth," I say facing Morbius.

The doctor looks at me confused but still half-heartedly opens his mouth. With a quick hand, I shove a bloody piece of imp meat into his mouth. He tries to gag it out but I keep my hand over his mouth with a serious gaze.

"Swallow."

His clear green eyes tense as black consumes them entirely, his skin turns pale, his muscles bulge a bit, and his ears turn sharp.

"Now that's the vampire we need," I gesture to the north as I remove my hand from his mouth, "Go, follow the scent."

With a snarl, the half-conscious doctor rushes out of the warehouse at a considerable speed. Following closely behind I turn to make sure Nightwing is keeping up, to my surprise he is struggling a bit to maintain his speed. I had assumed he was a naturally gifted young man but it appears he is just hard working.

The black lightning around him begins to stabilize to a fair degree as we get on the coast of Arkham Island.

"Stop," I say grabbing the vampire's shoulder, "Can you run over water?" I ask turning to Nightwing with a scrupulous gaze.

Rather than responding, he takes off towards the island at a little over mach two. He gets past the two hundred-yard gap in less than a second and slams into the side of a cliff above the beach.

I hear a hiss and flinch from the doctor, I turn to see he is still 'vampire' but his expressions are a bit more human than earlier.

"Let's go."

I appear next to the fallen Nightwing as he groans holding his head, "Well you made it past the water, so that's a plus."

He glares at me as I smirk at him, "Here," I offer a hand to help him up.

Taking my hand I pull him up, "I could have flown over." He says with a bit of hindsight.

I shrug, "But would you have learned your speed from that?"

"I don't need to learn right now, I need to save Jason."

"That's fair. Where is he, doctor?" I ask the vampire who is currently flying over the water towards us.

"There," He says pointing to the part of the large mansion-like facility without any lights on.

Nightwing nods as he rushes towards the prison, with a sigh I grab the vampire by his collar and follow him. The vampire is far too slow to keep up so I am forced to carry him.

The inside of this mansion is much more like a prison than the outside with steel walls and large metal courtyards. The part of the prison that Jason is in is dark with few cells as it is run down and decrepit.

Nightwing does a thorough search of all the rooms while I jollily walk through the halls still holding Morbius by his collar. The halls are large and there is an open second-story above us like any other prison. At the end of the hall is a large steel door and an eerie silence seems to hang over the prison halls.

"He's just up ahead, why are you searching the rooms?" Morbius asks trying to not snarl his words as he speaks.

"I'm looking for the joker," Nightwing says as he stands in front of us. Without another word, he turns to the steel door and holds out his hand. Gripping the air he concentrates and slowly squeezes the air.

*clang clang CLANG CLANG CLANG*

Retching metal like the hull of a ship being torn rings out through the halls of the prison. The large metal door in front of us begins to fold in on itself forming a large metal ball.

Finally setting down the vampire I turn to him, "Can you do that?"

He is seemingly baffled by my words and replies in a gruff voice, "I'm a vampire, not a magician."

Rolling my eyes I pat his back pushing him forward to follow Nightwing who is already inside, "Well go on them, do vampire things."

Taking my words seriously he fades into black mist as rushes forward into the room. Shaking my head I step into the room as well and stop at the door in surprise. It's like a scene out of a bad horror movie, blood splattered all over the floors and walls, torture tools sitting on a metal table, and a very beaten-up man tied up on a large flat table.

As Nightwing approaches the young man's eyes snap open, "AGAIN!? I WON'T BE FOOLED JOKER, NOT LIKE THE FIRST TIME!"

The young man's voice is hoarse and raspy as if he had been yelling a lot. Tears begin to well up in Nightwing's eyes as he pulls the mask off of his face.

"It's me, Jason, I'm here."

Jason's face turns sour, "You're a more realistic hallucination, aren't you? But Dick wears red, not blue."

Nightwing laughs a bit, "You idiot, I'm not a hallucination," pulling out a small winged throwing blade and cuts off one of the leather restraints.

As his arm falls to his side lifeless he stares blankly at Nightwing, "It-it's actually you? You came for me?"

Quickly cutting off the other restraints he helps him off the table, "Batman told me you were dead, I believed him…"

Jason looks down with a solemn face, "I lost hope months ago."

"MONTHS?!"
