The XiaoAiSect World

Welcome to my world, although through these books you'll only get to experience a fraction of it. I, myself, have yet to expand on it so it begins only in China. The world I have created is very cultivation heavy as it is the main theme of my books yet, an insignificant spoiler, two out four books won't end in the continuing practice of cultivation.

There isn't a specific time era for my world as I didn't want to restrict my writing because of history, this is fantasy after all. But to add context, if it wasn't obvious in my writing, it's based in ancient China.

And not everyone is cultivators, many of my fondest characters are of different nature and still have importance within the plot. So below I will list the type of jobs and appearances of these workers as I know not everything I write falls into the category of ancient China.

My types of characters can be mainly defined by their hair length. This however is based on the hair length of men as (the majority of) women naturally keep their hair long no matter their role in life.

Cultivators, the royal and the wealthy - like to keep their hair long as long hair is heavy and can get in the way if you need to move a lot. Being able to maintain it shows wealth and strength. Some sects will cut the hair of a cultivator when exiling them from the sect or some cultivators who wish to leave the life of cultivation, cut their hair to separate themselves from their past sect.

Farmers, merchants, servants and other low class workers - prefer to keep their hair short from the typical male cut length to about shoulder length. This is easier to work with as in hot days they will sweat less and there is no requirement to keep the hair appealing in appearance.

Monks - are known to keep their heads shaved and so it will remain the same in this world. Although there aren't any female monasteries in this world (currently), if there was they would have shaved heads as well.

The next chapters following this one will dive more into this world and dissect the cultivation used in these novels. I have yet to come up with a name for this world of mine so I think I'll just keep it as the XiaoAiSect world for now. The name 'XiaoAiSect' came from the realisation that a lot of my sects don't focus on love, it is the characters that make the novel a loving one. So the little love that the sects give are the building block for the adventure of love that my characters will get to experience. And hopefully you too.

Some of you may be curious about me as the author, however, I wish for you to respect my wishes to keep private about my personal information. If somehow these books do well, I'll consider answering some of your future questions but the future is unknown and the present is just making itself known.
