The first ever guest

"Hi there," Noah removed the black sunglasses which covered his blue eyes which resembled the deep blue sea.

Sasha looked at the man who sat on the couch with a bright smile,

The man whom she avoided in the morning, came searching at her doorstep.

Noah slowly observed the living room and fixed his gaze at the woman who was sat frozen.

"You have a nice house," He commented as he tried to initiate a conversation so that the solemn silence prevailing in the room would dissipate,

"Thank you," Her reply sounded feeble,

"Were you about to drink this?" Noah asked when he noticed the glass of milk and fruits placed on the table,

"You are not supposed to drink milk after consuming alcohol," He advised in a caring tone, "You will feel awful and even throw up. You should eat something easily digestible like soup or porridge,"

"Soup or porridge? I can barely stand and you want me to cook food?" Sasha rebutted, of course inside her head,

"You must have had a terrible hangover, how about we go out for a meal? A brunch, maybe?" Noah suggested as he sensed that air of awkwardness getting denser in the room. They practically became friends last night, but as soon as the alcohol's effect disappeared from Sasha's body, she returned to her aloof icy self.

"I don't eat breakfast," She refused his offer without any delay,

"It is almost lunchtime."

"I don't eat lunch either," She blurted out.

"Yesterday, you said that you won't eat dinner, today you said you don't eat breakfast nor lunch," Noah tried to hold in his urge to laugh,

"Sasha you are free to say that you don't want to have a meal with me,"

Sasha bit her lips in embarrassment when she realized that Noah saw through her plans.

"It is not like that I don't have a meal with you. I am not in a state to go out. I was even tired to cook food."Sasha tried to explain her part of the lie,

The exhausting part in her statement was correct, but having a meal with him- that was a pure white lie,

To be honest, Sasha didn't want to get associated with the man whom she had a one night stand,

"Is that really bad? Do you have any medicine for hangovers?" Noah inquired,

"I don't drink..so I don't have any"

"Oh that's bad, first-time drinkers will have a terrible hangover, let me do something, l will ask someone to bring food and medicines for you,"

"No no," Sasha immediately refused him. She was trying hard to avoid Noah and he is doing the exact opposite,

"It is totally alright, I will be alright...no...no... I am alright now," She tried her best to hide her weariness.

" I know that you are not alright, so please allow me to take care of you," Noah chortled and picked up his phone to order some food and hangover medicines despite Sasha's objections.

"Thank God, it is a holiday or it would have been far worse than your current situation. Just think about working with a terrible headache and nausea,"

"It is not a holiday for me. I got work," Sasha retaliated with a plain face,

"Oh really, what kind of boss makes his or her employees work in the last week of the year?" He asked out in curiosity,

"I am a freelancer,"

"Freelancer?" Noah stared at her in confusion. Isn't she part of the Reagan family? Does she really have to work as a freelancer?"

"I am a copy editor," She replied after contemplating for over a minute.

"Copy editor," the bewilderment was wide visible on Noah's charming face as he probed again. "You are a freelance copy editor?"

Sasha nodded in silence,

"Is she really working or just doing something as a hobby?" He doubted. But copy editing isn't something that required time and attention?

"Even though I am a freelancer, most of my works are handed down from my previous workplace senior,"

"Hey hey just don't lie, I know you are not an editor,"

It was unbelievable for Noah to digest the fact that Sasha is working as a freelancer,

First of all, she lives alone in a penthouse in one of the posh areas of soul city.

Secondly, even if she is an illegitimate child, she got an extremely powerful surname and it was enough for her to obtain a full-time job at any of their companies. Why bother working as a freelancer?

Noah refused to believe her. He still remembered how Sasha made him believe that she is in a toxic relationship. He is not going to fall for her words anymore,

"Well, I am someone who works under a senior editor,"

"Hey...you are Sasha Reagan...why do you have to work when your family runs the economy of Z country?"

"I studied literature, not business," Sasha crossed her arms across the chest and stated in a slightly annoyed voice.

Why does everyone have to work in their family business? And in her case, the Reagan family doesn't even acknowledge her existence, how are they going to allow her to join the family business?

Sasha almost let out a sneer at his question,

Looking at her deriding expression, Noah sheepishly scratched his chin,

"Ahh...you are that rebellious kid who decided to be different from the rest. I studied business, because of my family, even though I want to become an architect,"

As they continued talking to each other, the doorbell rang and put an end to their awkward conversation

"It must be your food," Noah stood up from his seat, headed towards the front door as if it is his own home,

However, it was George Jefferson, the manager of the Crimson Bay,

"Good morning Mi-" Jefferson who was ready to greet Sasha with a big fat smile was surprised when he saw the person who opened the door.

The smile on his goofy face deflated like a balloon,

Normally, it will always be the beautiful Miss who answers the doorbell, however, today it was a man...

Jefferson glanced at the door number to confirm whether he came to the right place,

"Huh, miss Reagan?" Jefferson opened his mouth after a moment of daze,

"Sasha, I think you have a visitor," Noah casually tilted his head towards the living room and informed,

"Miss Reagan who never had any visitors other than the delivery guys and building security, actually got a guest, that too a man who calls her by the first name, that is something interesting, " Jefferson wondered and looked at the handsome young man who was smiling at Sasha who approached the door in a flash of the moment,
