The practise fight

[Chapter – 1] [The Practice fight] [Helios Euadne – The rise of chaos]

"Helios – wake up" a small woman hardly over 40, in a maid's uniform was trying to wake a sleeping Helios. Helios was around 15 and had short black hair with a muscular body. He was quite tall, about 200 cm. Helios woke up begrudgingly and slowly looked around the room, to see the maid now a bit angry in the corner of the room. "will you wake up already your mother is waiting for YOU!" she said, annoyed.  After seeing the Helios sit up, she pivoted and left the room.

'Ugh Mary is always grumpy in the mornings and it's always me who gets the brunt of her attacks' Helios pondered while getting ready. He put on a short long sleeve shirt and black trousers. Afterwards he put on his armor which consisted of chainmail for his torso and arms, a leather tunic over the top of the chain mail, plated leg armor, leather shoulder armor on the right shoulder and leather boots with plated toes. With Helios' clothes on he walked towards the door and prepared himself mentally for the day ahead. "It's going to be a long one," he muttered while opening the door.

Once he walked through the door he was greeted by Mary and led down the corridor. After around five minutes Helios arrived at the big gold-steel double doors and quickly prepared a grin to see his mother. Once the double doors were opened Helios' eyes burned due to the quick change in brightness. In the room was a long table with many chairs and sitting at the end was Helios' mother Hades and down a few chairs was Arch, Helios' adopted brother and cousin.  Helios walked towards his seat and sat on the comfy velvet pillow crowned on the chair. "Nice of you to join us, MUSCLE HEAD!" Arch remarked sarcastically.

After hearing this Helios was slightly annoyed although he knew it was a joke. Would his mother? This is what worried him, he was fine joking around during breakfast (although the meal hadn't started) but his mother was a serious woman and would often give out harsh punishments. Sure, enough she looked mad Helios could see it in her eyes, but he knew Arch wouldn't, after all they barely talked or saw each other. Helios couldn't remember the last meal that Arch and his Mother were in the room. Although Hades' reaction was quite a shock to Helios. She laughed. 'No way, he got her to laugh SERIOUSLY!?' Helios was shouting within his thoughts at the astonishment Arch brought him.

While Helios was lost in his thoughts, he was quickly alerted back to the now silent room by the butlers bringing in the food. Helios now had an excited smirk ready to dig in any second as soon his mother aloud it. Helios was well known to be a big morning person especially when food was about to be served or eaten. Which was why Hades waited for this moment to speak "As you both know tomorrow is the awakening ceremony, when you participate in events against other young gods or demi-gods at the end all of you awaken, although it would happen anyway it's better to have a ceremony to signify your awakenings-" she paused for a moment before speaking again "-to practice for the events tomorrow I have brought a friend you can fight against to practice. Oh and before I forget your entire family will be watching including your siblings Helios"

Now with the weight on their shoulders it was finally time to dig in and eat. Helios almost pounced at the chance, his hunger finally boiling over. It was beans on toast with hash browns and sausages. Each bite melted in Helios' mouth with the grace of a King and ferocity of a lion. After the meal there was a moment of silence before Hades broke the silence by clearing her throat. "You will both go down to the gardens by the river, where Helios normally practices. DISMISSED!" and with that the pair left down the corridor.

"You are lucky you didn't get berated for that joke, idiot" Helios stated in a serious tone. All the while jabbing his finger into the chest of Arch.

"It's my masculine charm, and amazing jokes, that is why she laughed. MUSCLE BRAINS" Arch retorted in a mocking tone.

"Idiot" with that Helios started on his way to the riverside, with Arch right on his tail and servants waving at them on their way.

Now, down by the river the sun was halfway in the sky. There were silhouettes of two young men fighting with steel swords and they looked to be in a stalemate. It was Arch and Helios. "I wonder when that guest will come," Helios said before crashing down on Arch with an overhead slash.

"Dunno" Arch retorted quickly before pivoting, avoiding the overhead slash, and attempting to hit Helios with the but of his sword. Helios nimbly dodged with a roll forward, then once at the end of the roll twisting and going for a wide slash to Arch's abdomen.

In a swift reaction, Arch lifted his elbow to the sky, his sword resting behind his shoulder pointing towards the ground just in time to block the attack. Now the battle was at its apex. With Helios' attack being blocked he rushed forward and shoulder bashed Arch in the chest winding him, knocking him to the ground.

In quick succession Helios swung his sword around his head and aimed for Arch's chest with a diagonal slash.

-CLANG!-

Helios' attack was blocked, but not by Arch but the guest Hades' mentioned earlier. "KEKE. Nice to finally meet you. OH! And be nice to your cousin Helios."
