Lightning Discharge

The first book he opened was about lightning magic. Although the words looked like symbols, Albert managed to understand them due to Bonkey's assistance.

"Hmm, there's no introduction. Great." Albert smiled as he immediately went straight to the first page.

1-Star Magic.

"Still, the paper is yellow… I feel like I have heard somewhere that the paper from the past isn't white… I guess this is similar to it." Albert narrowed his eyes. "At least, I am thankful they have paper since it's one of the greatest inventions of all time. I won't like it if I need to read the word on a stone or something."

After saying those words, Albert focused on the first spell. There was a circle drawing on it with some strokes to the right as if it was trying to portray the ball's trajectory.

Bonkey immediately sent him the notification after seeing those words, translating all the words.

Name: Lightning Ball

Tier: 1-Star

Description: By channeling the Magic Power from one's body, the user can summon a small lightning ball and hit the enemy with it, resulting in a small spark that may electrocute the enemy.

Learning Requirement: 50 Bonk Bites

"What?" Albert was surprised to see the learning requirement. "Bonkey, what's that?"

[It's for you to learn the skill. Just like all your other skills, I can transfer the knowledge into your head after adjusting the magic into Bonk Magic.]

"You seriously don't want me to learn normal magic, eh?"

[Read your Bonk Bat's description again.]

"I know, I know." Albert clicked his tongue and tried to see his Bonk Gauge.

Bonk Gauge: 107 Bonk Bites

Albert pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering, "I can learn two magic immediately, but I will only have 7 Bonk Bites left. I won't be able to use them and I don't know when I can bonk another target…"

Albert wondered if he should get one skill with many Bonk Bites left to use it or two skills with only 7 Bonk Bites left.

However, he soon shifted his focus to another detail.

"Hmm?" Albert frowned when he saw the description. "You're not going to add the instructions on what I should do, Bonkey?"

[You're going to use Bonk Bites anyway since Bonk Bites have replaced your Magic Power, allowing you to get all other jobs. So, there's no need to translate them.]

"Fair enough," Albert muttered and flipped the page.

Name: Lightning Discharge

Tier: 1-Star

Description: By channeling the Magic Power to the hand, the user can release an electrical discharge to electrocute the opponent.

"Now that I think about it, is there even a reason why I should read this? I don't have an attribute, no?" Albert scratched the back of his head.

[No. By using Bonk Bites, you can wield all sorts of elements.]

"Is that so? Doesn't that make me overpowered? Also, if I get more elements, doesn't this mean I can make my opponent think I have more than one element?" Albert thought for a moment.

[Yes.]

"Great." Albert smirked and finally contemplated what element he wanted first. "Still, the girl told me that I have no element, so I should pick one from the book she's going to bring here. Just to make her not suspect me or something."

Even then, his problem hadn't changed. He still needed to decide whether he should get one or two skills.

"Hmm… Considering I won't be coming to this place anytime soon, I think it's better for me to get two skills this time." Albert sighed. "I don't know if I'm a fool or not by choosing two, but whatever… I should search for all the spells first to know if I want one or two."

Albert continued reading the book while listening to the ruckus Kona made upstairs. It seemed she was truly searching for a magic book.

He ignored her and kept searching for other books.

He learned that all 1-Star Magic required 50 Bonk Bites, which made him happy to know there wasn't any difference between them.

After fifteen minutes, Kona finally returned to the room, bringing her precious book.

"How is it? Have you learned something?" Kona asked with a smile.

"I am not sure. The description is rather rough, so I don't understand much about them." Albert sighed.

"Ah, it's normal for you to experience it. Even I couldn't understand many things when my teacher handed me the book. Do you want me to teach you?"

"Actually, I think it's better for me to see all the spells first to know which one I actually want before learning from you. This way, your teaching won't be useless." Albert explained with a warm smile.

'What a good boy… Is Alisa going to take advantage of this good boy?' Kona thought while doubting her friend inside.

"Can I browse all these books?" Albert asked.

"Of course. Feel free." She smiled before the bell outside rang. "Hmm, I have a customer. Stay here, alright?"

"Yep." Albert nodded with a serious expression. As soon as she left, Albert asked inwardly, 'By the way, do you have any suggestions, Bonkey?'

[No. You're the one in charge.]

'Not gonna give me any explanation about their pros and cons?'

[I can if you want. Just choose the spell and I will give you the information according to your current situation.]

'…' Albert scratched the back of his head. 'Actually, I am curious about the Lightning Discharge. I mean, I am using Bonk Bat right now, right? If I use Lightning Discharge while bonking my target, won't I deliver a more powerful blow?

'In fact, after reading the description once again, can't I just release the lightning right after I hit them? Doesn't this mean I can use my Bonk Smasher first before discharging the electricity? If I meet an opponent stronger than me, I can use this to defeat them.

'Hence, I am planning to get this skill and one ranged skill, allowing me to use magic fully. This way, I can refine my fighting style even more.'

[Since you have decided, there's no need to ask me.]

'Well, I just want someone to share my own thoughts. What do you think?'

[You have a clear goal in mind and your method is reasonable. I have no objection.]

'I guess I will get this one.' Albert smiled.
