Talk

" Hmm, you woke up just in time.. "

Shu said as he would then cross his arms, looking at Dio with a serious expression, glaring into the boy's eyes, placing upon the kid even more disorder than what the figure had caused

" If what your sister says is true, then we need to talk "

Shu added, with a demanding tone, which shook the boy a bit.

A few minutes had passed by and in that amount of time, Asami had already left the room along with her father, who was now in the roof of his castle waiting for Dio who at the moment, was changing clothes.

A few more minutes went by and Dio was now standing behind Shu

" I'm here, what did you want to talk about? "

Dio questioned as he sat next to his father whom's eyes were locked on the moon's bright white shine

" Your sister mentioned that when you were fighting you had a sudden change in personality, she also said you grew a horn from your forehead, and that your sanctuary energy changed color, noticeably; black "

Shu replied, as Dio would simply blink a few times, confused as to what his father was getting at

" Okay? Well, what's the problem? I don't understand what you're asking me "

Dio said, leaning his back against the rooftop as his father simply sighed

" I didn't think I'd have to explain this, I thought I was going to be the only one with this problem "

Shu said to himself as he rubbed his forehead a little, trying to process how his son could even start to go through what he went through

" What problem? "

Dio questioned as Shu only turned to look at him with a stressed looking facial expression

" Have you talked to anyone strange lately? "

Shu replied whilst passing his hand across his forehead in an attempt to calm himself as he began to worry for his son

" Talked to anyone?.. "

Dio paused and remembered the figure he saw; and with that thought came a headache, so he stopped

" No, not really, besides the bandits I killed, no one "

The boy added as Shu would then cross his legs together, putting one above the other to then place his hands on top of his own knees

" I don't people, but rather.. "

Shu would then press the tip of his index finger against his head, making Dio tilt his head a little

" Anyone in your dreams? Or your mind? "

Dio would then quickly sit up, staring deeply into his father's eyes

" How did you know? "

The boy asked urgently, as if this question was the most important thing in his entire life, which, in Shu's mind, it was

" Because I too, talk to a person in my mind "

Shu replied as he would then move his finger away from his head, placing his hands together as he tried to come up with a way to explain this matter to his son

" Really?!? Aww man, cool, so then you can teach how to properly talk to them and— "

" No! "

Shu said, shutting his son completely off, scaring the boy a bit, only for Shu to move back a bit, noticing his son slight reaction to his tone

" Listen, Dio, this creature we have in our minds aren't there to do us any good, they are there to ruin our lives, they cause trouble for us, and they make us do things we regret "

Shu explained as Dio would only sigh, scratching the back of his head with a little bit of disappointment

" What's wrong? "

Shu questioned

" Nothing, it's just that I was hoping it'd be some sort of secret power only we have or something like that.. "

Dio said, his voice's tone lowering with every word he said, only to receive a few pats on the head from Shu who sympathized with him

" Well, these creatures do give us power, but in exchange of something we can't afford to give "

Shu whispered as Dio would then look up at his father, tilting his head a little, now becoming a bit more curious

" Something we can't afford to give? What could that be? "

Dio replied, making Shu smile a bit as he would then press the tip of his index finger against his son's forehead

" Our minds "

Shu whispered; sliding his finger across his son's face, all the way down to his chest, pressing against it

" Our souls "

He added, making Dio nervous, to then place his hand on top of Dio's shoulder, squeezing it a little to then bring his son forward a bit

" And our bodies, that is why we must seal these creatures away, they aren't here to help us like I said earlier, they just want what benefits them "

Shu said as Dio would then take in a deep breath: smiling a bit, because even though this was a serious matter, he was happy that he was able to spend even more time with his father

" Then how do I seal this creature off father? "

The boy replied only to feel his father's hand squeeze against his shoulder and then his father's forehead against his

" Close your eyes "

Dio would immediately listen to his father and do so

" Now picture a dark room "

Shu ordered, orders which Dio followed

" Now imagine that there is a cage, and that this cage is sucking in the creature that you saw "

As Shu continued to explain, in Dio's mind this cage was already formed, it was large and the metal was thick, the room in which it stood was empty but with smoke in every corner.

That smoke would then accumulate and form the figure that the boy saw; the figure would then stretch out its fingers in an attempt to grab onto Dio in a playful manner, but Dio's sense of self began to break and his mind began to spin, but just as disorder was about to take over Dio's mind, the cage started to suck in the figure.

" What? What is this? "

The figure questioned as it then began to frown

" Why are you doing this to me? "

The figure seemed confused and scared, as if it never meant to do anything to annoy, but before it could say anything else, the cage locked him in and away from Dio's grasp.

Dio would then open his eyes, breathing heavily as he tried to erase his mind from the thoughts of the figure, only to receive another head Pat from his father

" You did good son "
