Chapter 189- The Age of Genesis

The death of one of the unknown members and the major defeat of the rebel army marked the end of the Age of Climbing.

However, the remnant of the rebel army and those who were dissatisfied with the Zahard Empire's and the ten great families' reign in the tower didn't give up yet. They banded up and stood up together to resist them once again.

This was especially the case for the native ones as they had helped up and joined the rebel's side in the civil war, making them a target for culling from the Zahard Empire's perspective.

After all, king Zahard was proven to be ruthless.

There was no reason for him to leave his enemies scoot-free without receiving any consequences after trying their luck in overthrowing him. Thus, he wanted to end them all once and for all.

Under the leadership of Grace Mirchea Luslec, all of these different races and species managed to band up together and formed FUG, an organization that was established with the vision of overthrowing king Zahard and the ten great families.

But, naturally, Luslec was no fool.

With his extensive experience and even personal understanding of king Zahard and the leaders of the ten great families, he knew full well that FUG couldn't hold a candle against their forces. At least, in a direct battle that was.

After all, even when his two masters were still leading the rebel army personally, they had always been on the losing side constantly.

He knew pretty well that king Zahard was monstrously powerful, much more powerful than him.

Hell, even he understood that none of the leaders of the ten great families were weaker than him and most likely, also stronger than him, especially Arie Hon, Khun Eduan, Ha Yurin, and the other top-ranked leaders of the ten great families.

He knew that in a direct fight, he and his army would absolutely lose against them and instantly crumble apart. Waging an all-out war against them was suicidal.

So instead, he waged guerilla warfare against them.

This would make Zahard's and the ten great families' numerical advantage, superior army, massive scale war machines, and most of the advantages they had, became obsolete.

Instead, the numerous and large territories they had conquered when they became the rulers of the tower, became a huge weak spot as they had to stretch thin their numbers to guard them.

After all, even though Zahard and the leaders of the ten great families were invincible with their great power and contract of immortality, they were far from being omnipotent or omnipresent.

There were only eleven of them while there were more than a hundred floors that they had to protect as part of their governance.

Also, the tower was incredibly vast, even every of the inner area of each floor was big, more than thousands of square miles let alone the middle area of each floor, which was always bigger than its inner area counterpart. And the last but not least, the largest and most spacious part of the tower, yet also the most worthless, the outer area of each floor.

Moreover, even if they had a huge number of armies, they were far from limitless.

After the previous civil war, many of them had already fallen, decreasing their numbers greatly. But most importantly, they were still many kingdoms, clans, and organizations that were dissatisfied with Zahard and the ten great families.

They didn't like how Zahard and his elk, outsiders that came from outside of the tower, suddenly just proclaimed themselves as the king of the tower and the great nobles.

How dare they took the lands that they always lived and propagated for countless generations and claimed them as theirs?

They were outsiders, they had no claim at all on any land in the tower, even if it was just a single meter!

Now, just because they had managed to reach the top and struck a deal between themselves and the guardians, they suddenly proclaimed themselves as the rulers of the tower?

How preposterous!

When Zahard and his companions first entered the tower and began climbing, they had helped them sincerely. Now, this was how they would repay them after all of their generosity and grace? After they had no need of them anymore?

Those were the feelings of the native ones and the native residents of the tower when Zahard and the leaders of the ten great families established their government. After all, they already had their own governing body, civilizations, and sovereignty.

Why would they suddenly accept a foreign government's rule when they said that all of them would have to bow down to them and kiss their feet?

And thus, those who were dissatisfied with Zahard and his corrupt elk and couldn't stand with his bullshit demands and his self-proclamation as the king of the tower, voluntarily joined FUG and worked together with Luslec in his guerrilla warfare.

Many people thought this wouldn't work and FUG and their associates would be crushed quickly after the Zahard Empire and the ten great families managed to figure out and adapted against their guerilla warfare tactic.

However, there was one thing that they didn't know but Luslec knew very well.

It was that Zahard and the leaders of the ten great families were extremely aloof and detached from their people and even their own descendants. They regarded themselves as superior existences far above normal mortal beings.

To them, their existences were less worthy than even a speck of dust.

Even if all of them died, they wouldn't feel any pity or sadness despite they were their own people and even to their descendants. Of course, they could still feel some compassion to their closest or direct descendants, but that was only a few exceptions. And even so, they were from how good parents or even, just normal parents, would behave.

As long as Luslec and his very powerful allies didn't make any move in the war, they wouldn't even bother to take part in the war. After all, who cared if those ants died today or a thousand years later, right? Certainly not them.

They were worthless existences, anyway. Their only sole purpose that made their worthless lives even worth anything was to serve them with all of their beings. Dying in their service against FUG and their associates was the greatest honor and reward they could ever obtain in their worthless existences.

Because of this, Luslec and his most powerful allies never went personally on the battlefield to not provoke the leaders of the ten great families that were loyal to king Zahard to join the battlefield as well and decimate his armies.

Thus, rather than a real war from both sides, it was more of a proxy war where they only sent out their small armies to fight and defend the territories that were under their control.

And thus, this marked the beginning of the Genesis Era.
