Frozen Ruins

They were at a lake, fishing to catch something to eat. It was snowing, but the lake strangely hasn't froze. But it seems that the lake was very deep. It was really weird

"W - Woah!!!!"

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

Cain laughed as loud as he can.

He ridiculed Sivir for not being able to catch a fish in the lake.

"N - Not again...."

"I failed to catch it..."

Sivir was feeling down for failing to catch the fish. She was upset. She hoped she would at least catch one.

There is Cain, whose two buckets are pile of fishes he caught.

"Please, can I get one, lake - kun?"

Sivir was begging and really looking forward for a fish to catch. She patiently waited with a blue face.

"AHAHAHAHAH!!!! Lake - kyun ~~" ‹---- Cain

Cain burst his tears laughing and mocking the young girl. He somehow can't control his own laughter.

"You're really funny, Sivir!!!!!"

"Please stop mocking me."

"Right, right... I will."

- - - - - - - - - A few minutes later.

"O - Oh!!!!"

The fish rod finally caught something on its hook. She pulled for it. She really pulled for it hard. She's quite sure that she might pull one out.

"Errggghhh!!!"

"Heeh, need help?"

Cain suddenly and strangely gave support to Sivir who has having difficulties of what she's doing.

"E - Eh? Of course.."

"Be prepared!"

Cain then supported pulling the hook side-to-side with Sivir.

"Heeeeee - Hooooh!!!!! "

Whooosh!!!!

The creature from the hook suddenly whooshed out of the lake water.

It was a strange giant fish that has sharp teeth and one horn at the center of its head.

"H - Heh?!!!!"

"Hooooh!!!! Amazingggggggg!!!!"

"T - That's..."

"That's a Horned Whalefish."

"H - Heh? You know it?"

"But it's strange to see one in this climate."

"Yeah. You're right. I was surprised too. "

"Hmmmmmm.... "

Cain was thinking of something. He was solving what was going on with the mysterious appearance of the supposed fish.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

Horned Whalefish are giant creatures that roam around the Southern and Western Part of the Glader's Ocean, the ownership of ocean goes to Kingdom of Magia.

It is said that these creatures migrate to the Northern part every four years, as the water becomes frozen and very cold. But there are strange incidents that happen

when they enter through other forms of water as well to warm up themselves. From seas to lakes to large waterfalls and rivers, they were sighted a pretty few times.

"Hmmmmm.... I don't get it.. My head hurts."

"Don't think about it too hard, Cain - san."

"Y - You're right. "

Cain stopped thinking about it. Until he saw strange marks at the side body of the fish. It was circle marks. They were three of it that forms a triangle shape combined.

"Hmm. Strange. "

"What is?"

"See this"

"O - Oh?!!!"

"What is this?" Sivir was shocked of what she just saw. It isn't really shock, she was surprised and also a bit of amazed.

"This isn't an ordinary Whalefish, isn't it Cain - san?"

"Eh? Cain - san?"

"Cain - san?"

"He suddenly disappeared."

"I'm here."

"Oh!! You're there."

"We.. We shouldn't eat that fish... Sivir."

Cain suddenly said with a dark and moody expression as he is laying down in a wooden log.

"Huh? Why, Cain - san?" We caught food to eat, right?"

"No... We didn't."

Still, he has an attitude opposite to the brimming spirit he always had.

"I'm sorry to say this, but that fish is probably poisoned." Cain said it with a scary tone

and a shadowed face.

"P - Poisoned....."

"You're right..... It's odor is really foul and spoiled." Sivir said.

"Aaaaaahhhhh.... It really stinks."

Cain was really disgusted of the smell, he then covered his nose tightly.

"What do we do with it?"

"Well..... Well it's dead. So, we shouldn't toss it right back at the lake as this creates problems in the water."

"Hmmmmm....."

"Ah! We should just dissect the poison."

"You think so?"

"Yes!!"

"How should we do that?"

"Leave it to me, Cain - san!!"

"Hooooh!!! Ok!!"

She then ripped and opened the fish's body to look for the poison that was spread.

"It's surprising, Cain - san."

"You don't know how to dissect a poison?"

"You're an adventurer, so... You should know, right?"

Cain didn't respond to the question. He then whistled and his face was sweating like an idiot. His expression was obvious that he doesn't know it.

"A - ah... " Cain was sweating nervously and finds a way to go through.

"Haaaaaaah.... " Sivir let out a sigh.

"W - Wait, Cain - san.."

"You said it was poisoned, right?"

"Yeah!!" I said that!"

"Haah... You don't have to shout... "

"Hmmmm?"

(He really is an idiot, isn't he?) - Sivir

(But jokes aside, it seems there was no poison on the fish's insides.)

(So how is it so stinky? When cooking a Horned Whalefish, it doesn't smell like this.)

(Hmmmm...)

"What's wrong, Sivir?" Cain then popped and asked out of nowhere when Sivir was still thinking of something.

"A - Ah.. It's just strange."

"Hmmm. Why?"

(I really shouldn't tell him that it's not poisoned, right?)

(No. I shouldn't.)

Sweesh!!!!

Suddenly a snowflake mark appeared from the body of the fish and instantly exploded.

"W - Wha?"

"Oh!!!!"

"What was that?!!!" Cain was surprised too. As they hadn't expected that to reveal from the fish's body.

"T - That was a mark...."

"Heh.... A mark, huh? What is that?" He then questioned Sivir for not knowing what was in front of him earlier. To put it simply, he was clueless.

"It's a mark. A technique."

"Technique?"

"Yes. But I don't know much about it."

"O - Oh.... "

They didn't find something from the fish. So they decided to cook it as it was not poisoned.

They decided to walk away for now. Cain walked with Sivir as they are on their way back to the their camp.

But all of a sudden, the snowflake mark that just appeared earlier materialized again from Cain's pocket.

"W - Wha?

"Oh!!! It appeared again!! Amazing!!!"

They were boggled out of their minds as they saw the strange mark again, but this time it was from Cain's pocket.

The two of them were assessing as how did it come from Cain's pocket. Cain then searched through his pocket for something to find, and to his surprise, he touched a pendant that his hands didn't recognize before. Why did a pendant suddenly appear in his pocket? It was full of mysteries. Cain suddenly pulled the pendant from his pocket.

It was a circle - shaped pendant that has a snowflake mark as its symbol. It was cold to the touch of his hands. Maybe this was the source of the mystery that a snowflake mark that all of a sudden appeared in front of them.

"A pendant....." Cain then muttered.

"W - Why was that in your pocket, Cain - san?"

"Well, I don't know." Cain hurriedly replied.

"You don't know?"

"Yeah."

"That's a problem, Cain - san."

"Eh!!! Why!!!??" Cain energetically questioned Sivir.

"Because I don't know it too."

As expected, Sivir also didn't knew what the pendant was and what it was about.

But they knew something, as to where and when it appeared from.

"But this appeared right after we found the Whalefish. Right, Cain - san?"

"Right!!!!"

(So even Cain - san didn't knew how it appeared then and even when it was in his

pocket all along.)

During her thought, Cain spotted something weird about the pendant he was holding.

The pendant shone light blue. It then showed a snowflake mark in front of them.

"Woah!"

"Ah!!"

As the two of them were shocked seeing the mark again. Yes, again.

After two instance spots earlier, this one seems to stay put.

"F - - - Frozen - - - - - - Fro - - - - - Frozen Ruins!!!!!!!!!!"

The mark that showed up in front of them screamed a voice that seems to be struggling

of what's it saying. It was a man's voice. And a terrorized echo was heard after the

heart - wrenching phrase of the man.

The mark instantly disappeared in their eyes again.

"W - What was that?" Sivir couldn't comprehend the situation as her face turned blue

due to the traumatic voice of the man and the terrorizing echo that came after it.

"Hoh.... Amazing!" And here we have Cain. His reaction was quite opposite to the

one than what Sivir had shown in her face.

"Heh? You think that was amazing, Cain - san?!!!" Sivir was dumbfounded at Cain's

reaction.

"Yeah! That was amazing!!" Brimming with spirit.

"Frozen Ruins, huh?"

"No!! No!! No!! No!!"

"Cain - san?!! Do you even know what was the Frozen Ruins mentioned on the audio?!!"

"Hmmmm."

(He seriously doesn't know it.)

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"

"Eh!!!!?"

"Cain - san......" She was really low as Cain didn't meet her expectations.

"Nothing." Sivir said with a soft and almost - quiet voice.

They are lost in the woods, they are roaming in the forest endlessly to find the exit.

As they are walking across the snowing forest, a figure that appeared to be 6 - foot tall

introduces itself.
