The Apple of Morana

After a few hours of traveling, the sky was getting dark. Also, Lvle and Uni were getting hungry. So they decided to find a place to camp for the night and eat.

"Where should we camp tonight? And how are we gonna eat?" Uni felt like his stomach was twisting from the inside out. After leveling up, his hunger was somehow suppressed, but now everything is returning.

^So far, that level up hasn't done anything to help me. Those push-ups weren't worth it^

*Growl*

*Growl*

Both Lvle's and Uni's stomachs were growling, so they had to do something. Lvle felt that it was getting colder the closer they moved forward, and although this could've been because the night was growing close, Lvle thought there might be a river or lake nearby.

"Uni, I think we're getting close to a lake, and we can get our food from there."

"Ok, lead the way." Following the lead of Lvle, they both ran through the trees until they found something they didn't expect.

It was a white tree emitting a cold aura around it, but what really caught my attention was the Apple on the tree.

It looked frozen, as the Apple was all white in color. "Wow."

Uni was speechless at how beautiful it was. It looked as if it was ripped from the heavens.

"Lvle, do you know what this is?" Uni turned his attention to Lvle to see how he reacted, and he seemed even more speechless.

"T-t-t-that's the Apple of Morana!" Uni was rather shocked by his reaction. ^Telling from by how he reacted, this Apple must be pretty important^

Lvle also turned his head at Uni, but when he saw how lax Uni appeared, Lvle thought he didn't understand the importance of the Apple.

"Uni, listen to me! If your Petals have Ice elements, this Apple will grant you a fragment of power the God Morana had."

"From what I know, The story says she created three apples to give to her children. But after she split her power, Morana was nothing more than a regular person. Once others got wind of her weak state, she was assassinated by one of her rivals."

"Fortunately, before she was killed, she managed to hide away the apples in the mortal realm forever. And one of them is right in front of our face."

Uni didn't understand most of what he said, but basically, this Apple is mythical beyond belief and extremely rare. The rest didn't really matter.

But still all of that enticed him and made Uni excited. Causing him to reach out to it.

Seeing this, Lvle immediately grabbed his hand. "Don't do that." Uni was confused, "Why?"

Lvle sighed, "Like I said, this only grants power to people who have Petals in the Ice element. If someone tries to touch it without an affinity in Ice, then the person who felt it will freeze to death instantly."

Hearing Lvle's explanation, Uni realized he was saved by Lvle again. "Thanks for the warni-" Before he could finish, their stomachs growled again.

"The apple made me forget about my hunger." But luckily, there was actually a river there. They just hadn't noticed.

"Luck really is on our side today!" They feared the river wouldn't have much fish, or rarely any, but it was quite the opposite. Many fish were swimming in the river, so they grabbed a few branches and quickly caught many fish.

"We're having a feast tonight!" After catching the fish, Uni put them all nearby, While Lvle made the fire.

Sitting down by the lake, Lvle struggled to make the fire at first, assumingly because of the cold. Still, eventually, they managed to finally sit down together and eat.

"Give me all the fish. I'll cook them," Lvle said.

"Ok, do you know how long it'll take?" Uni was trying to eat as quickly as possible.

"Maybe around 15 - 20 minutes."

This broke Uni, as he was this close to eating the fish raw, but he resisted as much as possible.

Not knowing what to do, he checked his system to see if anything had changed. He couldn't really see much, but his eyes widened when he scanned his primary quest.

[Main quest: Eat the Apple Of Morana]

[Guerdon: ???]

Uni was very surprised when he saw this. He looked back at the Apple with a temptation filling his eyes, but he remembered what Lvle said.

^If I touch, I will die, but that's only if you don't have an Ice element. I don't have an ability, let alone a Petal^.

Although Uni kept telling himself this, he wasn't 100% sure. ^Would the system gives me this mission if I couldn't even eat it^

That is what kept Uni on the fence about it.

"Lvle, what are we gonna do with the Apple? Are we just leaving it here?"

Lvle looked up and thought about it, "Honestly, I don't really know. For now, our only choice would be to leave it here. Unless we had an Ice element, we can't even touch it."

Lvle was very distraught as he explained it. This once-in-a-lifetime object appears right before you, but you can't even touch it. How heartbreaking is that?

After listening to Lvle, Uni gave the Apple one more glance before letting it go.

^Although it seems like a powerful resource, maybe it's meant that I couldn't have it. I am curious to see who will end up obtaining this God-like item in the future^

In the City Of Klosa, a few people were in a back alley celebrating something.

"Rejoice. We finally found the Apple of Morana after years of searching. At the break of dawn, the girl will head out to retrieve it. The big burly man then turned his attention to the little girl in the corner.

The girl had stunning snow-white hair and spotless skin. The man was standing over the little girl as he said. "You better not screw up, or else you know the consequences."

Shivering from fear, the girl nodded quickly. Seeing her answer, the man smiled. "Good. Men were going to the bar, drinks on me tonight."
