Chapter 16: The beginning

"So anyway, we already got your weapons made beforehand based on the information given to us on what you specialize in," Luke said as he then presented 2 boxes, one in front of Emma and one in front of Perseus

Perseus opened his box to see several weapons, twin guns, a sword, and a pair of daggers and all of them are black in color.

"Woah, those are high tiered too, I'm jealous" Ace commented

"Well we got even better materials that Jake left, but we'll leave it for when you get better, with great power comes great responsibility," Luke said, "And he has also suggested it in his will."

"Is there anything else you will need?" Eliza asked

"Um just a short sword will do" Perseus answered as he placed the weapons in his ring

"Um sure, what about you Emma?" She asked as she munched on her chocolate

"A saber, with Wilson, I might change my role into cavalry and in our lessons, I heard that saber are the best for cavalries" Emma answered

"Why do you need a short sword anyway?" Nova asked

"I read this novel in the libraries about this dude who slays goblins, and I need more weapons other than daggers to fight in the small space" Perseus answered

"That's fiction and this is reality, I'm sure it will turn out fine, we fought goblins before, annoying but nothing to be worried about" Nova replied "Even a child can beat them in a one on one fight"

"Just think of me as paranoid, and usually I would take your advice, but in this case, I would trust an advice of a goblin expert" Perseus responded

"Whom may or may not be fictional" Nova said

"Exactly" Perseus nodded

"He's weird, I like him" Eliza commented as she listened to their conversation "Come back in 2 days, and your short sword will be ready"

"What did I just hear? She likes...him? Pinch me please" Elliot asked Dabria who pinched him hard "It's not a dream! I'm so jealous!"

"Sorry Eliza" Olivia apologized "We tried to discipline him, but it never seems to work"

"That's fine, just make sure to have more of these chocolate bars when I visit, these are great" Eliza replied

"It's bad for your health, and you might want to put them in the fridge, the chocolate is already starting to melt" Luke scolded her "Glad you like our weapons, so what's your plan for the future kid?"

"For now, I plan on becoming an adventurer to make a name to myself with these guys here, and in the future, I will change the fate of the buries, the name is crap and the lives people live there are terrible" Perseus answered "We shouldn't be treated horribly for what our ancestors did and in order to do all that, I need power and influence"

"Well be careful out there, you probably heard the word going around, the tension between us in the physical world and those in the spiritual world are fierce these days, especially between the angels and demons, if war starts, you adventurers might also be pulled in as soldiers" Luke warned

"Let's not be so negative and discourage them now, these 2 are not even properly registered yet," Lauren said

"Where do you guys even plan to go first?" Craig asked

"Just a few small hunting quests before we all go to the Modia empire, where Perseus and Emma will do some harder quests with us" Nova answered

"The floating city, a great place to start, safe enough for our daughter too" Craig nodded

The Silvers and the Emma were in an office room at the Silver family's house discussing about their future plans.

"So we will be a small guild operating under the watchful command of the the adventurers guild, what else do we need to do?" Nova asked

"Here's the paper and it lists all our members, Nova, Dabria, me, Perseus and Emma" Elliot took the paper out "Nova will be the guild master, and of course, I also list our 2 spirit beasts, Ace and Siege and your familiars will not be counted as members. I did everything, now we just need a name for our small guild, I suggest, the lightning dragons"

"That's stupid" The rest responded in unison

"The prodigies?" Emma suggested

"Too pretentious" Dabria commented "7 deadly sins?"

"Already taken" Perseus responded "Night Raven?"

"Too commonly used" Nova shook his head "How can we fail at the easiest step? Let's spend the rest of our day to think of our names, that will be our first activity as a guild"

They went through a lot of names, shiny unicorns, iron fists, champions, mighty beasts...etc.

"That's the best we can come up with?" Elliot asked

"Well it's way better than lightning dragons" Emma argued

"Which happens to be better than the shiny unicorn" Ace responded to which Emma ignored

"Well let's submit it, I already got our first quest, it's located at a cave outside the walls of Artia, since the military and enforcers aren't going to take care of it, we will and it'll also be easy enough for beginners like Perseus and Emma to join in" Dabria chimed in

"What will we be doing?" Siege asked

"Just some goblins and slimes, it'll be really easy, our mission is to just kill them, it won't take long" Dabria answered

"Wilson will probably be left out of the fight, so let's do all of this quick and advance to harder ones" Emma cheered

"We're both still tier 1 adventurers, I don't think we should move up too quickly, even goblins are dangerous you know" Perseus replied "We should remember the advice of your father and instructor Williams, it's to not underestimate our opponents, no matter how weak they may be"

"You think too much" Emma waved him off

"Identification?" An enforcer asked as the 5 then handed out their identification cards "Alright, please be careful on the roads, I heard that there might be a few survivors of the buries that might mug you on the way"

"I still couldn't resist the urge to shoot all of the enforcers in the face" Perseus said when they were far away

"Don't we can stir up trouble that easily, our guild is just formed" Nova replied "The ominous scourges, that's a terrible name, but we'll run with it till we find some better ones"
