Chapter 11

[Skill Leveled Up: Object Creation] Lvl 3

I waved away the message, my hands busy with holding my new creation.

It was a thick steel chain over 10 meters long with each link 5 inch wide. Even I would not be able to break this, let alone a low-class devil. Especially the stray devil that I've captured, who doesn't seem to have enough brains to use anything but his strength and his freaky long tongue, from which it spat globs of poison. Well...it used to spit poison but that was before I ripped his tongue off.

I'd found this thing stalking us when me and my minions were playing the most noble game of hide and seek. Issei would've most likely died from the stray's attack had he not unlocked some badly designed red glove and punched off the devil. He'd managed to survive just long enough for me to get there and save his puny life.

But now that I had this tier 2 being in front of me, I couldn't let it go without some experimentation, can I?

Low-class stray devil

Race: Stray Devil

"W-what is this!?" The tired Issei screamed, running to hide behind Irina.

"This is our new companion for the rest of the day." I replied with a snicker as I started binding the unconscious stray devil in chains.

"Wow!" Irina exclaimed.

"Why!?" Issei whined.

"Now now, Issei. If you are really serious about becoming a scientist then you have to do this kind of stuff."

Suddenly the boy looked more determined than I've ever seen him. "...You are right, Mikael-san! I must do this."

The boy started walking towards the devil, still shaking like a leaf. I picked him up by his scruff and dropped him back to his place.

"You don't need to do anything right now issei." I said, still binding the stray with the steel chain. "Just stand there and watch me."

After that, I ignored my useless minions and went about satisfying my curiosity. I woke up the devil, letting it test it's strength against its bounds while making careful observation. It thrashed around, trying to break the steel links but ultimately failing. I still got what I needed though.

The devil could exert more than 14,000 Newton of force when lifting, so the maximum weight he could lift would be around ...1440 kgs? If we take gravity as acceleration. So 1 stat in strength could lift 10 kgs in tier 2.

I was happy to note that the Increase in strength was consistent. Tier 1 had 5 kgs per stat, and tier 2 10 kgs. So tier 3 should logically be 15 kgs per stat right? Or if the strength was doubling in every tier, then 20 kgs per stat.

Well, it seems the time to know my true strength has finally come. I hadn't got any chance to test it since my tier upgrade, so I was definitely excited for it.

As it turned out, I was wrong. My maximum strength was much more than I'd theorized. I could completely lift a maximum of 6900 kgs, or 15200 pounds, or 6.9 tons or 7.6 Us tons.

I was stunned. This kind of strength...it shouldn't be in the hands of a 6 year old, god or no god. I could literally pick up cars and throw them around. Hell, I could probably lift an elephant with sheer strength.

But then I realised, I was just a fish in the ocean. Just a tier 3 being with 230 strength. What could my mother lift if she tried to?

...What can a god? it was a scary thought.

Worst, I actually had an idea about their strength and speed now. The difference in tiers was substantial but consistent. Tier 2 was twice as strong as tier 1, tier 3 was thrice as strong as tier 2, and I'll bet anything that tier 4 was 4 times as strong as tier 3. The difference increased more and more with each tier. So I crafted an accurate enough stat sheet, that gave me an idea of what I was going to face.

For tier 1= 1 stat is 5 kgs

For tier 2= 1 stat is 10 kgs

For tier 3= 1 stat is 30 kgs

For tier 4= 1 stat is 120 kgs

For tier 5= 1 stat is 600 kgs

For tier 6= 1 stat is 3600 kgs

For tier 7= 1 stat is 25200 kgs

For tier 8= 1 stat is 201,600 kgs

For tier 9= 1 stat is 1,814,400 kgs

For tier 10= 1 stat is 18,144,000 kgs

So if I calculated this correctly, and I knew I did (Increased intelligence helped a lot), then mother should be able to lift around 17 million kgs. Almost 20k US tons.

I had trouble imagining that kind of weight. She could literally smack away a tank by accident. And there's no vehicle she couldn't pick up. Cars, SUVs, buses, trucks, trains, even freaking aeroplanes!

It was ridiculous.

For the first time in my new life, I had a glimpse of what made a god, God.

And it was frightening.

For the next few days I spent my time worrying about the future. In a year I'll be going to America, and mingle with the Greeks. And all the myths and stories that I'd took to reading suggested they were one of the biggest assholes out of all the mythologies.

And I wasn't even at the level of a demigod yet!

Just thinking about it gave me a headache.

Thankfully, Issei was there to provide a good distraction.

Issei Hyoudou (Red Dragon Emperor)

Race: Human

Tier: 1 (Mortal Tier)

Level: 6

Stamina: 70/70

Health: 60/60

Stats

Strength: 5

Speed: 6

Dexterity: 6

Endurance: 7

Constitution: 6

Mental: 9

The Red Dragon Emperor. I've read a lot of stories of that being— stories of how even gods stayed wary of the beast, of how powerful it was, and of course, of its legendary rivalry with the white dragon Emperor.

And I couldn't care one bit.

It was sealed, and while the Longinus sacred gear did empower the user drastically, I doubted Issei was ever going to be a threat to the gods. It was universally known that the sacred gears were defective, and quite limiting. Even the most powerful longinus user was only able to use around 65-70% of the original source's power. And considering the limitations of human body, even if Issei came out as some absolutely monstrous genius (doubtful), he will still only be around an Ultimate-class devil's level, or even pushing slightly, at peak-ultimate class level.

Which was good enough for me to promote him from my junior minion to senior minion. But that was it.

I did start involving him and Irina in my training, but other than that, I kept the whole thing a secret.

I'd wanted to tell mother, but she was too busy with devils vs exorcists stuff so I refrained. Apparently the city's guardian, Cleria Belial, was having a steamy love affair with an exorcist, and was foolish enough to reveal it to the world.

Like seriously, why? Why would you do that? As far as I knew devil and angels/exorcists were equal to vampires and werewolves. Even a kid should know not to be friendly with each other publically.

Not this kid though, it seems.

-------------------------------------------------------

Time passed in kuoh without any major event. I felt like I was on an extended holiday compared to my previous 6 years of my life. There was no threat to my life, and after my research into tier difference was done, I found my schedule being too empty. Of course, I still kept up with practicing my skills, but I needed something new to focus on.

At November 5, my birthday came, turning me to seven. And the first to wish me was...my system.

[Happy Birthday: You are now 7]– Spirit increased by 20

It could've been a bit more upbeat but hey, I appreciated it alright? Especially the spirit points. Over the last few months, my spirit grew by 50 points in total, without adding my own system points. So perhaps spirit increases with age plus the use of your power? Logical.

The rest of the day passed as usual for me. My mother seemed more excited about my birthday than me, and I was just happy to see her so thrilled.

Birthdays had lost its shine to me a long time ago, but for my mother this was the first time she will have an opportunity to properly celebrate it, so for her sake I did my best to look as excited about it as her.

We went shopping, had lunch in a restaurant, brought a massive 7 pound cake, and just generally had a lot of fun.

When evening came, our limited guests appeared for my birthday.

Only two people were invited though, Issei and Irina. Also, we had an uninvited guest in the form of Azazel. But we couldn't turn him away now can we?

I was quite satisfied with this arrangement. It was a quiet affair, but I can confidently say that we all enjoyed the evening, and I made sure to shower my mother in compliments for making it happen.

Late in the evening though, we all sat in the living room with full and satisfied tummies, grasping for any topic of conversation. I decided to reveal Issei's status.

"By the way, Azi. What do you know about the red dragon emperor?" I asked casually.

The man looked guarded for an instant before flashing an interested smile. "Why my young friend, I know quite a bit if I do say so myself. Why the sudden interest?"

The man was trying his best to appear calm, but I could pick up the slight tension in his shoulders. Why was he being so defensive?

I shook my head, not caring about his business. I waved at issei, indicating him to reveal the glove. "Issei here, is the new red dragon emperor. As my prime minio–ah, I mean, my good friend...it is my duty to help him."

The news seemed to shock the two adults. Even mother sat up bolt straight.

"Is he now?" The fallen stared at Issei with a newfound interest. "You don't mind if we take a look, do you?"

I'd already taught issei to atleast consistently be able to activate his sacred gear. A gesture from me and a red gauntlet suddenly covered his right hand, with a green emerald light shining from its centre.

"Honey, when did you find this?" Mother asked me as she came to sit beside us.

"A couple of months ago. There was this low-class stray devil who attacked us. Issei unlocked the gear then." I replied.

My mother's eyes widened in alarm before narrowing down at me.

"Why am I hearing this only now?" She asked, not angry but more... sad and disappointed?

I had no idea why they were making such a big deal out of this... was boosted gear more powerful than I realised?

"Ah...you were busy with the devils and exorcists...so I didn't want to disturb you about the boosted gear..." I replied hesitantly, unsure of their reactions.

"Oh love, that's not what I meant." She suddenly gathered me in her arms, hugging me tightly. "Why did you not inform me about the stray devil? You could've been hurt, kael. And I always have time for you, you should know that."

'Ahhh! Now that made sense.' I winced slightly, realising exactly what my mother was worried about.

"It wasn't that big of a deal, mom." I replied, before quickly following as she opened her mouth to retort. "But I promise I'll tell you if anything like this happens again."

My mother tried to give me stern eyes but failed miserably. She then simply sighed, burying my face under her. "You had better remember your promise, young man."

I heard Issei and Irina snickering besides me but I didn't turn. They will pay for that later, oh yes they will.
