(3rd POV)
Arriving back at the lodge once more today, Chikyu set Kota down on the ground and told him to follow him.
As Kota followed his big brother, he was led to a path that he had never seen before. While there wasn't anything immediately special about it, at the end of it, there was a large, completely empty area, bar some patches of grass and a few small stones. There were some areas with streaks in the dirt, and some trees were damaged.
"What is this place?", Kota asked.
"This is where I train. This is also where you'll be doing the same thing with me from now on."
Kota nodded, more curious about how his brother was going to start with said training than anything else. He wasn't powerful, athletic or exceptional in any regard, so there was a lot to cover, and he wondered what Chikyu would choose to cover first.
He had his answer pretty quickly.
"Before we even begin thinking about other stuff, you need to build up your foundation. Your basic strength. I'm not expecting you to be as fit as an exceptional adult or anything like that. But you will have to be fit considering your age. So I'll have you do some basic exercises while I do my own training. I'll keep an eye on you as I do so. Also, don't be afraid to take breaks, but at the same time, you mustn't stop as soon as things start to hurt. Push yourself a little bit every time, and get used to it little by little. Don't try and charge through things right away. You'll just hurt yourself more than you help.", Chikyu explained.
Kota nodded at the explanation, thinking it made sense. If his foundation was strong, then everything that comes after that will be easier.
Chikyu took a sharp stone and carved an exercise routine into the bark of a nearby tree that wasn't damaged like lots of the others.
"This is what you'll be following until I say otherwise for as long as you're here with me. For today, you'll only be doing 3 sets of each for as long as you can until it starts to hurt a bit. Remember what I said about pushing only a little bit each time and breaks. Alright, begin."
And so, the two brothers began training. Kota with his "foundation training", and Chikyu with miscellaneous different things for his training, mainly custom martial arts training. As promised, Chikyu watched Kota as he did the exercises, making sure he was doing it right and that he wasn't pushing himself too hard. He wasn't expecting anything spectacular. After all, Kota was just 5. It's not like he was supposed to be as strong as All Might or anything like that. He just needed to be above average for his age if he was going to succeed with the training Chikyu planned for him.
An hour later, the two of them had finished their training for the day. Well, normally Chikyu trained for three hours, but he knew that if he went for that long, Kota would end up pushing too hard because he wouldn't want to sit around doing nothing while his brother worked hard with the training.
"You did well for the first day. Get some good rest when we get back, because from now on, we'll be doing that almost every day.", Chikyu told his little brother.
And so, the long day had finally come to an end.
