Chapter 37: Internship, Part 4

(Sorry for the wait. I recently got Elden Ring which I've been playing a lot of. I've also been trying to finish Yakuza Kiwami 2. I've also been watching a ton of One Piece. I'm currently in the Post-Marineford mini-arc. And lastly, I've been watching Parasyte The Maxim with my mom.)

(Chikyu Trivia: Chiku likes to watch fights of Heroes and Villains online and look out for strategies and habits that could be useful in hero work. The heroes he gets the best info from by doing so are the older veteran heroes such as Gran Torino)

Chikyu and Shio were currently on patrol. This time, Shio decided to take Chikyu further out, as villains often preferred to do crime in the areas where cities met, as fewer heroes go that far during their patrols. When they got there, they were basically right next to Hosu, where a good few of Chikyu's classmates went for their own internships.

They had already stopped a small band of petty villains on their way here. Chikyu managed to contribute this time, choosing to shield the civilians by putting up an earth wall in front of them and then diving in to attack the villains that attempted to run away.

As they arrived at the point nearing Hosu, Shio stopped, Chikyu doing so as well, curious as to why they halted.

"As you know, we're about to go do some work at this "converging" area. But I want to really test you. We'll wait on the nearby rooftops, and when villains come by, I'll leave them all to you unless it's something super serious. Think you can do it?", Shio asked.

Chikyu nodded, and the two heroes jumped to the nearby rooftops and waited. After around 20 minutes of waiting, a rather sizeable group of villains started approaching the area. One had a Mutant quirk. He had features of a moose, namely the antlers and fur on his arms and legs.

Chikyu considered how strong moose were, and how that would combine with human strength. The villain looked built too, so they were definitely not weak on the human side of strength either. However, he was absolutely sure that it was still nothing compared to the level of natural physical strength he currently possessed thanks to his consumption of the demon body parts. So the mutant wasn't a worry.

He looked to Shio and gave him a nod, silently telling him that he would jump in now.

(3rd POV, villains focused)

The villains stopped walking as a tall boy landed in front of them in a costume. The hoodie of his costume hid most of his face, but his stance showed the more experienced and knowledgeable of the group that he knew how to fight, despite them not having seen that particular stance before.

Before any of them could react, the boy blazed towards their biggest and strongest member and took him out with a ruthless axe kick so powerful it cracked the area of ground where their ally's head landed in reaction to the kick.

[Heaven And Earth Strike: Airborne]

Mere milliseconds after he went down, the boy moved onto the rest of them, taking out 7 of them with a powerful punch that sent air shockwaves after them.

[First Stance: Fist Of The Black Turtle]

Straight afterwards, the boy made them all trip by kicking the ground with a sidekick that once again affected the air.

[Second Stance: Kick Of The Red Phoenix]

As they were all on the ground, the boy finished them all off one by one with chopping attacks, knocking them out instantly.

[Breaking Hundred Bricks]

And that was it.

(3rd POV, neutral focus)

Shio jumped down and observed Chikyu's work. It was clean, far cleaner than he thought it would be. He did it all with just his physical prowess, not using his quirk even once. He also demonstrated that he was more than skilled enough with his martial arts to effortlessly beat bigger villains as well as large groups efficiently.

All in all, he was quite pleased for Chikyu's first solo effort during his internship.

The two patrolled for a while more and later returned back to Tidal Force.

The second day of internships ended with little to write home about apart from Chikyu's first solo work, which went splendidly.
