Happier Thoughts

Kyrie was having struggles of her own, but hers were of a more positive variety.

It was a rather nondescript afternoon in the nursery that Vivian finally picked up on Kyrie's subtle change in behavior.

Kyrie gently encouraged Raine as she held out her hands to her, and the little girl slowly waddled across the room to reach the destination of Kyrie. Raine was growing so fast, and even though there wasn't much talking on Raine's part at this point, there was a whole lot of moving around. She was often crawling and trying to pull herself up onto things, and the two maids had fairly quickly baby proofed the nursery well enough so that Raine wouldn't wander too far.

Soon Raine was practically falling into Kyrie's arms, and Kyrie murmured a soft good job to her as she lifted the little girl onto her hip. Raine was alright with it for but a moment before she squirmed to get off and continue her exploration around the room. Kyrie let her down at this insistence and just watched with a silence that caused Vivian to scrunch up her face a little. Kyrie wasn't really that talkative, it was true, but they'd known each other for long enough now that she wasn't usually completely silent.

Vivian had been taking Kyrie's presence in the nursery as a good opportunity to tidy up the room, but now that the chore was done, she plopped down on the ground next to where Kyrie had sat down. Kyrie only gave Vivian a brief smile before turning her gaze back to Raine. Kyrie had a faraway look in her eyes though, as if she was looking through Raine and not actually at her. After observing this, Vivian was even more positive that something was off.

"Kyrie? Is something wrong?"

Vivian gently took one of her friend's hands, and Kyrie startled from the sudden touch before vigorously shaking her head and taking her hand back, almost as if she was guilty of something and was trying to hide the evidence.

"N-no. Nothing's wrong. Why would you think there's anything wrong?"

Vivian just gave Kyrie a look, which caused Kyrie to sigh as she turned her eyes down into her lap and fidgeted with her dress.

"There's... There's not anything wrong so much as... Something on my mind... Lately."

Kyrie's whole demeanor was positively shifty as she looked pretty much everywhere except for at Vivian, and now that Vivvian knew there wasn't anything wrong with Kyrie her curiosity was kicking in. Playfully grabbing onto Kyrie's arm and shaking the other woman just a little, she spoke up.

"Well don't leave me in suspense! Out with it!"

This playful physicality coaxed a small smile out of the younger girl, but before she spoke she couldn't help briefly looking over towards Raine. She... She wouldn't be able to understand what they were talking about, would she? Raine had really only been doing a bit of babbling so far and she only barely responded to commands or questions. Surely anything said in Raine's presence now wouldn't be remembered? Still, even with that conclusion made, Kyrie lowered her voice.

"Vivian... Is it horribly painful to..."

Here a bright blush lit up Kyrie's features, and she looked around the room again as if to ensure that they were indeed alone. Even though she was convinced of this, her voice dropped even lower so that Vivian had to lean in to hear a single word she was saying.

"To sleep with a man for the first time?"

For one horrible moment, a flare of jealousy coursed through Vivian. It was an irrational response on her part; it was drawn from the assumption that everyone was trying to sleep with Renard. That initial anger soon smoothed over once her brain actually started kicking in though: this was Kyrie, there was no way that she'd be interested in the object of her affections. Vivian had made sure of that. Well... sort of. Vivian had certainly steered Isaac and Kyrie together, but in the end it was their compatability that had made that plan work so well. It was obvious that her question was referring to her and Isaac, and Vivian felt a little silly to have thought otherwise. Once Vivian had effectively rationalized away the negative response, a rather wolfish grin lit up Vivian's features.

"Why Kyrie... Have things been getting a bit heated between you and Isaac? Honestly, I'm surprised he's waited as long as he has!"

"Shhh shhh! Not so loud!"

Kyrie leaned in to cover her friend's mouth, looking around a little panicked and with bright red tinting her cheeks. Vivian let out a soft giggle and pulled the hands away from her mouth, lowering her voice to appease Kyrie.

"Sorry, is this better for you?"

A pout had scrunched up Kyrie's features at this, and she looked so adorable that Vivian just wanted to pinch her cheeks.

"Have you really never had sex before?"

Kyrie shook her head.

"No... Never..."

"Well what have you done with Isaac so far?"

The bluntness of this question flustered Kyrie mightily, and she once again looked around the room. This time though, she seemed to be searching for some kind of escape.

"I-is that really necessary for you to know?"

In truth it really wasn't, but Vivian's curiosity had been peaked, so with as much gravity as she could muster she uttered a firm "yes."

Kyrie bit softly at the inside of her bottom lip and brought her hands up to both cheeks as her brain brought her back to one of their most recent scenes in the garden.

"We... We do a lot of kissing. Not just the lips but also the tongue. He holds me close, I've sat in his lap, and he'll... He'll tease my neck a little with his lips while I'm there..."

There was a wistful smile onKyrie's face as she spoke of all this, and while she didn't really realize it, she was also trembling slightly just from imagining the sensations. Isaac's actions created a warmth in her that she'd never been able to experience before and it was something that she was always craving more of.

"His hands stay pretty firmly around my waist, but sometimes they'll slip just a little higher. Only a little though, never quite high enough to touch my chest."

Vivian was also smiling as Kyrie recounted these pleasant moments with the man she'd decided to be her lover, mostly because her friend looked so dazed and happy when recounting them and it was easy to get lost in those feelings. She herself had lots of moments like that with Renard. Yet... there was one big difference between her and Kyrie: Isaac would remain true to Kyrie while Renard would never stay true to Vivian. It hurt to think that, and while there was happiness for Kyrie, there was a jealousy in Vivian that made it hard for her to be truly happy for her friend. This jealousy filtered through a little in her response.

"I see... He hasn't been doing a whole lot to prepare you then."

"What do you mean?"

Worry scrunched up Kyrie's brow while a smug sense of glee coursed through Vivian.

"It sounds like he's barely even touched your bare skin and you're thinking of sex with him already? I'm impressed at his self restraint but Kyrie, you probably don't even know how big a man's erection is, do you?"

"W-well, no."

Kyrie's face was paling a little to have Vivian tell her just how unprepared she was for sexual relations, and guilt hit Vivian like a ton of bricks. Perhaps she had taken it a little too far.

In an effort to get Kyrie looking less dejected, Vivian draped a hand over Kyrie's shoulders to pull her in for a side hug.

"No need to fret, Kyrie. It's just that it's a bit bigger than you might think, and you'll want plenty of foreplay beforehand to make it pleasurable. I won't deny that it will likely be uncomfortable the first time, maybe even the second time, but as long as Isaac isn't completely awful in bed then you'll find it to be a mind blowing experience."

"Was that how it was for you?"

Kyrie's voice was soft as she asked this, and Vivian's eyes flickered a little in remembrance which wouldn't really be noticeable to Kyrie due to the angle with which they were sitting next to each other. Vivian's first experiences with sex hadn't been pleasant: they'd been more of a desperate necessity than anything particularly enjoyable or romantic. Still... Kyrie had a partner who was head over heels for her, surely she wouldn't have anything like what Vivian had in the past. The only thing that would be noticeable to Kyrie would be a slight tightening of Vivian's arm as she turned to give the younger girl a smile.

"Yeah, that was about how it went for me."

"I guess... It would take some getting used to, having something get put into your body that isn't usually there..."

A laugh was the response that Kyrie got from Vivian which once again caused Kyrie to blush as she tried to shush her her friend.

"Try not to be too afraid of it, Kyrie. I can promise you that once you get used to it it becomes an absolute paradise. Why do you think I'm pretty much never in our room at night?"

The red on Kyrie's cheeks didn't fade at all from this question, and Vivian chuckled as she stood up to go pick up Raine who was trying her hardest to get over the little wall that kept her in the room.

"Come on you little monkey. Your mother should be home soon and she'll want to see you."

A burble that sounded vaguely like ma was all the response she really got, and Vivian turned back to give Kyrie one last smile.

"Just go slow, Kyrie. No need to rush things. Take all the time you need, I'm sure Isaac will be understanding."

Vivian left the room at that, leaving Kyrie to tidy up the little bit of the room that still needed putting away.

Was she trying to rush things? She pondered this as she dropped some stray toys into their bins. The only thing she'd really wanted was to follow the anticipation and warmth that she felt when Isaac touched her. Isaac didn't feel like he ever pushed her, and she never felt forced when he initiated things. He always moved gently towards her and with lots of warning. When they finally did go further though, would she be scared? Or would she welcome it?

What Vivian said made her more nervous than she'd been before, and yet... The desire was still there. She wanted to know. Her body burned to know what it felt like to have Isaac's hands slip under her clothes, and to understand what it truly felt like to be one with another person. She'd drawn pictures trying to imagine it, but she didn't think they truly did it justice. She wouldn't be able to truly draw the act until she'd done it herself and now... Well... Now she had someone she wanted to do it with.
