As Adair thought about that, a new thought came to be that could potentially help her immensely. If there is a language translator, does that mean if she speaks in Galactic Empyrion that her teachers would understand what she is saying? If this is actually the case, then she would no longer be unable to explain herself, which was the only major problem she had been running into so far.
She hoped to test this with her next class assuming that there was the next class. Adair could not tell the time of day inside this house since there were no windows, but even if there were windows, she worried that it wouldn't help her tell the time at all since she assumed that this house was in the same area where Anahel was, and that area was all black not showing any daylight or nightfall.
As she exited the training room, she did realize that she could be wrong, though, and the door she had entered through could be like one of those teleportation doors her teacher used. While she assumed that that wasn't the case since it did not appear like it was one of those types of doors for all, Adair knew the main entrance door was a more advanced version of those doors, and this house was in the middle of nowhere.
She soon stopped thinking about this, though, because as she was walking through the hallways, she had entered the theater room again, but this time instead of looking like a theater room, it appeared like a magical laboratory with all different sorts of diagrams, wands, floating devices, huge hats, glowing textbooks, etc. and many other different types of magical devices all around the room.
She also saw an elemental-like creature standing on the stage, quickly ruffling through a whole bunch of different-sized papers. While Adairs first thought she was to call it an elemental creature, it was not what she would have expected thinking about an elemental creature.
This is because while its body appeared to be one fluid object, it did not appear to be made out of the water as she would have expected seeing a dark blue elemental. It was hard for Adair to explain, but it appeared that its body was made out of liquid jello. While those two words together appeared to be an oxymoron, it was the best way for Adair to explain the being's body.
At first, she wondered if this was her next class in her schedule, but she then realized that this would be the perfect time to test her hypothesis and see if she spoke in Galactic Empyrion if her teacher would actually understand her.
So she tried saying "hello", but nothing really came out of her mouth. She tried again, and this time a cry-like sound came out of her voice. She was confused because she was pretty sure she was saying the right thing to say "hello" in Galactic Empyrion but maybe spending so many years in solitude and not speaking with Hank actually made her forget how to speak Galactic Empyrion.
She decided to give it one last try, and this time it came out completely normal, but when the word she said came out, both her and the elemental both jumped because an automated female voice was heard throughout the entire area saying, "Unknown language received….Processing...1% of language comprehended, 20% of language comprehended, 50% of language comprehended, 75% of language comprehended, 100% of language comprehended, language added to the database."
Once it had said "language added to the database," Adair was waiting for the automated system to say something else, but apparently, that was the end of its transmission to them. She looked over to the elemental who had jumped when the audio recording happened, and Adair saw it picking up its papers which were now all over the stage.
Adair at first wondered what happened as she could not fully comprehend the situation that had just happened, but she soon came to the realization that her hypothesis was correct or at least partially correct and that there was a database that allowed everyone to understand each other even though they spoke different languages.
It also appeared that Galactic Empyrion was not in the database, which didn't really shock Adair but what did shock her was that this system apparently was able to fully understand Galactic Empyrion with Adair speaking just one word.
She had no idea if this was actually possible, but she figured that it was worth a shot, and this time she said another word, this time "test," to see if the system had the same response as last time, but it did not. She then muttered a whole bunch of other words to herself, seeing if she could get the automated voice again, but it did not come back.
This led her to two conclusions, the first one being that the machine had actually fully comprehended her language with just one word spoken. Or that it was constantly editing itself with each word Adair had just spoken. She honestly did not know which was the case, but she guessed one way to figure out if it actually got the whole language was to try to talk to the elemental.
So she decided to walk up to the stage, and right when she was at the bottom of the stage, she decided to say "hello." Unfortunately for Adair, the man jumped again as if she had surprised him, and when he jumped, all the papers he had picked up were strewn about again.
It then looked down at Adair and somehow said, "why are you here so early? I still have an hour of preparation," in a slightly panicked voice. Adair did not know if the man had understood her or had just spotted her, and that was why he jumped, so to see if the man actually understood her, she decided to try to answer the man's question and see what type of response she got. So she responded with, "I am sorry, I had no idea that I was supposed to be here in an hour; I don't even know how to tell the time, so is it ok if I just stay here until the class starts?"
Somehow the jello man looked confused and said, "what do you mean you don't know how to look up the time? All you have to do is activate your personal interface." As the elemental clearly answered part of her question, she did a little happy dance knowing that she could finally speak, but she then answered the elemental question by responding, "I have a personal interface? I had no idea. How do I activate my personal interface?"
When Adair said this, the elemental stared at her and responded, "are you serious." The tone of voice made Adair think she had done something wrong, but since learning about this interface would probably make her whole life easier, she decided that she should probably answer truthfully so she could learn how to activate the interface. So she responded with an "Um… Yes, I am serious." As soon as she said this, she worried that she had said something wrong because the elemental deliberately threw all of the papers it had been picking up into the air which in turn quickly dispersed all around the room.
It then started muttering to itself, but unlike the muttering from the other teachers, she could understand this one, and it was saying, "I graduated top of my class, Top of my class, and I got the privilege to work in The Sanctuary, and I thought I would be teaching the top minds of the universe, or at least the top minds of one of the six goddesses empires. But I get to teach a baby how to use introductory magic that even the most peasant parents teach their kids. What the hell is my luck for this to be the outcome of my job. Are they looking down on me for this being my first teaching job? Is this a test? This better is a test. Because I did NOT go TO school for 300 YEARS to teach a child PRIMARY MAGIC!"
As he was muttering all of this to himself, Adair saw the jello man start to pick up all of the papers that he had thrown up. He continued to do this until all the papers were picked up. He then spent some time organizing the papers until eventually he looked down and saw that Adair had a look of horror on her face, and this is when the man realized that Adair could understand every word that he had just said. He then started muttering to himself, "I'm an idiot. I forgot to turn on the privacy blocker. I am so fucked…"
