As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

<p>As the interface in front of Adair sprang to life, she became overwhelmed by the different options available to her. It was as if she was someone entered from an era where the only technology that existed was slingshotted, and she was teleported to the middle of Newer York. The difference was so big that Adair just sat there, not even knowing where to start.</p>

<p>Cassandra seemed to know something was wrong, though when Adair was not doing anything, so all of a sudden, the interface disappeared from in front of Adair, and the stone lit up again. This brought her out of her daze, and she wondered what happened until she realized what Cassandra was doing. This time though, when the light show stopped, there were only a couple dashes left of the previous blue lines on the stone.</p>
