As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

Nothing unexpected happened this time when she sat down in the crystal chair, which was nice since she was unsure if she could handle another table being able to kill her just for thinking it was safe to sit down.

She also wondered what happened to the pyramid since she could still feel it inside her mind, but whenever she tried to talk to it, she just didn't get any response. She also knew that she did not see the red liquid spew out of her like what had happened with the other previous beings, but she worried that since the pyramid did not have a physical body, the same reaction would not happen.

Since the pyramid was still there inside her mind, though, she hoped that something else was going on and that she hadn't just killed her newest friend. She sat this matter aside for the time being, though since a very appetizing salad appeared in front of her by a waiter and she quickly dug into it.
