As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

Once that was done, she went back to where she had left the potion and took it out of the refrigerated box, and set it out, letting it thaw and reach room temperature again. This took a bit of time, so while she was letting that happen, she inspected it in several different ways, seeing if there had been any tampering or if there were any anomalies that shouldn't be there.

Unfortunately, this was the first time either of them had made this concoction, and while Roxanne would have been able to tell if there was something majorly wrong but if there was something minor was wrong, she wouldn't be able to tell at all.

They also did not have any high-tech equipment to inspect it at a deeper level which meant they were only able to do eye tests which were usually not very accurate unless something was really, really wrong.
