After the man at the podium said, everyone in the audience cheered, but there were many different levels of cheerfulness of the people. There were the people who looked like they were in control of the whole situation and were the wealthiest were the people cheering the loudest.
There then was the majority of the people watching, and they gave out a forced cheer since, based on the dynamic of what was happening, she assumed that if they didn't cheer, then they may be the next ones up on the chopping block.
Then lastly, there were what seemed to be the parents of the children in the execution line who gave out an obvious sign that they had also cheered on the situation but were clearly dying inside while doing it, and the tears were plentiful on their faces but the nobles or the business owners who ran the town only cared that the people acted supportive of their cause and clearly were not paying attention to the weeping parents.
