As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

Adair was still unsure if this was just a pretense of getting her to admit to things since she was unsure how much evidence they had on her, if any at all. The only evidence that she could think of was that if the spaceships had taken pictures of her or that they had a copy of her brief interview with the news anchor, both of which would be pretty damning, but maybe they wanted more evidence to convict her.

So while she really wanted to stay quiet and just not respond and just sit there, she was worried that would happen to her since Roxanne was not answering her; she felt that she really had no other option other than answer the questions.

She was getting really tired of the soft power of the people around her forcing herself to do things and her not really having any way to refuse what she was getting forced to do since she was sure that this would not be the last time where someone would use the power over her to do things that she didn't want to do.
