As a young woman Adair Fox enters the civilization test, the most difficult test in the entirety of the Galactic Empire, in hopes of achieving that highest of honors and finally becoming eligible to meet her parents. During the test Adair acts out of desperation and uses a dangerous ritual to save her people, only to get betrayed by them shortly after. Unfortunately not only does Adair fail the test, but she also finds herself trapped in a void for thousands of years until she eventually meets up with another being. She makes a deal with the Reincarnation Machine, which allows her to go back in time and become a sorceress.

The Forgotten Ability

For a second, she thought about arguing against the extra training that instructor Kai was thinking of making her do but based on the look that he gave her; she decided that it probably was not a very smart idea and that if she decided to, then she would only be adding to her future pain in training.

So she decided to stay quiet and just accept that even though she was just a single minute late that this was her fault and that depending on how bad the extra training was, she may vow to never be late again.

She also thought that this might be just an intimidation thing, and because of this, she did not. She found it best to just stay silent and see how her instructor would react. Unfortunately, it may have been better for her to respond since her instructor followed up by saying, "Staying quiet? So you are accepting the punishment."
