Chapter 4: Identity Crisis_2

Dis went downstairs.

Before long, Karen saw him walking downstairs to the yard through the window.

Dis's outfit carried a religious tone, but it seemed somewhat different, carrying a strong sense of specificity.

Perhaps outsiders thought that Dis being a "priest" would help expand the family business, as his status would easily gain the trust of the churchgoers, which could then... get more orders for the family.

But Karen didn't think it was that simple, and it wasn't until Grandpa pushed open the courtyard door and left that Karen suddenly realized the source of that "meaning".

"Our grandpa is a bit like Uncle Nine."

"Who is Uncle Nine?"

"A priest who specializes in catching vampires."

"Oh, like in a play?"

"Yes, that's right. Mina, do we need to mop here, too?"

"Yes, and the stairs."

"I'll help you."

"But how about your health?"

"It's okay."

Karen began to help Mina mop the floor, and after that, they went to mop the stairs. To change the bucket, Karen came to the courtyard where there was a large faucet for faster water retrieval.

At this time, Uncle Mason returned in his modified "nutshell" car, Ron and Paul pushed down a stretcher with an old man lying on it. Karen saw the white hair under the white cloth.

Uncle Mason had already run into the courtyard without noticing Karen in the corner and went straight to Aunt Mary.

"Father is looking for you." Aunt Mary said.

"Where is he?" Uncle Mason's eyes seemed a bit erratic.

It was like the manifestation of guilt for doing something wrong and being afraid of being blamed by the elders. As a habit from his previous life, Karen noticed these details.

"Father just left." Aunt Mary said.

"Well..." Uncle Mason seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, then said, "I'll go look for him. Maybe he's in the church."

"Alright."

Uncle Mason ran out without driving the car.

Aunt Mary did not notice her husband's strangeness.

Because her attention was on the old man who had just been sent from the nursing home.

Soon,

Aunt Mary screamed,

"Oh my God, he has shit on him!"

...

Paul and Ron, who failed to fulfill Aunt Mary's orders, were asked by Aunt Mary to be responsible for cleaning the body. In the face of an angry Lady Mary, they dared not resist.

Paul took the stretcher to the basement, while Ron came up to Karen,

"Young Master Karen, I need to borrow the bucket and mop."

"I'll help you take it down."

"No, no." Ron twisted his neck. He was tall and somewhat stout. He was not very old, but with an obvious beer belly, "We can handle it."

Karen smiled and asked, "So why didn't you let the nursing staff clean his body?"

It should have been the job of the nursing home staff to do the initial cleaning of the deceased. Otherwise, it wouldn't look good for the family to see their loved one's dirty body.

"Young Master, I'm sorry." Ron scratched his head embarrassedly, "I invited the nurse who took care of Mr. Mozam to the movies in a couple of days."

So, that's how it was...

Ron's face was slightly red, and he continued, "She said she likes movies and popcorn, and she can feed me popcorn with her hands during the movie. So... so I don't want her hands that feed me popcorn to have just wiped that stuff off.

You know, feeding each other popcorn during a movie is a really sweet thing between couples. In the dim light, when she puts popcorn in my mouth, I can also lick her fingers with my tongue."

"Jesus, this is so wonderful!"

"Dream on."

Paul's voice came. He had already taken Mr. Mozam into the basement and now came up for plastic gloves and laundry detergent.

"Paul, I know you are just jealous of me!"

"Jealous of you? Come on, Ron. No woman in the world like you except Mrs. Hughes, the proprietress of the Hughes Crematorium Association."

"You are talking shit!"

Ron was so angry.

"Mrs. Hughes?" Karen asked curiously.

It seemed that the proprietress of the Crematorium Association should have been a rich woman, so why was Ron so agitated?

"Haha." Paul laughed, and then explained, "Young Master Karen, you might not know that bodies need to be sprayed with gasoline to help them burn before being pushed into a furnace. Skinny people often need more gasoline, otherwise, their bones won't burn. But fat people, their body fat can help fuel the fire.

Therefore, Mrs. Hughes of the Crematorium Association likes Ron's figure the most because he saves fuel."

"So that's how it is."

"Damn, Paul, how dare you slander me in front of Young Master Karen!"

"Come on, let's get to work, or else Lady Mary will get mad again."

Ron and Paul walked to the basement, talking and carrying the stuff.

In the hall, Aunt Mary lit a cigarette. Her mood was not so bad anymore.

Because Paul had given her good news. The old man named Mozam had children, and they would come later.

If it wasn't a welfare order, it meant there was a profit to be made, even if it was the lowest-level package.
