Chapter 14: Black Fog_1

"Here we are, 45 rubles."

"Hmm... huh?"

"45 rubles."

"Alright."

Of course, Karen wouldn't carry his entire savings, but he would usually have a few hundred rubles in his pockets.

He handed over a 50-ruble note.

The driver accepted it with a smile and said,

"Thanks for your generosity."

"Huh?"

Karen could only nod his head, accepting the fact that his "5 rubles" had turned into an unreturnable tip.

After getting out of the car,

the taxi drove away.

The taxi fare was really expensive.

50 rubles was enough for a family of four to live on for a day, at least with basic meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

From the Crown Ballroom to Mink Street, it wasn't even far.

At this moment, Karen was reminded of his college days when he took a taxi, he stared at the red numbers on the meter as they steadily increased from the starting price.
