"Mrs. Hughes, I'm driving."

The next moment,

Karen felt his earlobe being sucked into a slippery warmth, a slightly intoxicating sensation.

"Mrs. Hughes, I'm driving."

Karen had to remind again and simultaneously slowed down the car.

"I'm so stupid."

Mrs. Hughes whispered in Karen's ear.

"Mrs. Hughes, you are not stupid."

"I'm an ugly, unfortunate, and very stupid woman."

"Don't speak of yourself like that."

"Didn't you call me stupid?" asked Mrs. Hughes, "Over the phone."

"When did I..."

Karen suddenly felt a shock.

"Also, in the living room this afternoon, weren't you discussing me with that policeman? I could see from your expression and tone full of disdain for me."
