I groan and roll over. I mentally curse and spring up into the sitting position looking around d frantically. Where am I?
'Mistress. We are safe. Astor carried us here. He is next door.' I nod and stumble out of the bed. This was his room I'm guessing. I frown slightly. The room had dark navy walls and old English styled furniture. It wasn't very personal if you asked me.
I shake my head and begin opening doors. Finding a walk in closet and a bathroom. This was a really boring room. Then again I'd never been inside a males room anyway. Maybe they were all like this.
Shrugging I walk over to the door. Maybe some exploring would be good for me. I let out an ear piercing shriek as Astor just stood on the other side of the door. He smirks down at me.
"Some warrior you are." I scowl at him and try to move around him. When he catches me around the waist pulling me back against him. I was already alittle cranky. I struggle in his grip as he chuckles. Of course I didn't get anyway. I roll my eyes and plant my feet. I wiggle my shoulder under his arm and grip it tightly.
I could feel Shade push forward. Then with all my might I drag him forward over my shoulder and he makes a loud Thud as he hits the floor. But he seems unphased and just laughs harder.
Astor was quite annoying when he wanted to be.
"Stupid werewolf." I jump over his body and make my way down the hallway. Not caring if he followed or if he stayed on the ground laughing.
"Your cute when your cranky." That only fueled my annoyance with him.
"I'll hit you." it was a warning. But Astor just smiled easily at me and sighs.
"Aw. Is little dragon upset with me?" I growl at him and pick up my pace. I was having a hard time not smiling. What was with him?! And what was wrong with me?! Why couldn't I stay mad at this idiot? He was trying my patience and I wanted nothing but to smile like a high school girl at him. I shake my head and turn down a totally random hall way. Astor laughs again drawing me attention.
I stop and turn to him crossing my arms.
"What?!" He chuckles again. Lifting two fingers and poking me in the forehead. I openly gwack at him. What is his deal? He sighs and does it again causing to reach up and swat at his hand.
"You should learn to relax. I'm only playing with you." I narrow my eyes at him.
"I'm fine. I know why you are doing it. But I am fine." Astor snorts and pokes my forehead again. I felt a small smile tug on my lips.
"Then you should learn to suppress your emotions. Because Incase you forgot. I am your mate. And I can feel your emotions. They are coming off you in waves." I roll my eyes. And watch as he smirks again.
"Not that I need to read them...You were them on your face. You aren't very good at concealing your emotions."
I arch an eyebrow at him.
"Excuse you. I do not wear my emotions on my face." Astor shakes his head and takes my hand causing me to blush. I glance around to see if anyone was watching. It was different at the temple. There wasn't really anyone there. Butbthis castle was full of people not to mention his MOTHER!!
"Come on. I want to show you around the Market place." I scrunch my face up. Was that really a good idea? I'm literally an outsider.
'You are his mate and their Luna.' I roll my eyes at Shade's voice. She wasn't wrong but that didn't make me any less of an outsider here.
Astor sighs and pulls me along with him. I wasn't ready to meet his people!
What if they hated me?! What if they hated him for bringing me here? For marking me?!
"Freya..your thoughts are very loud. My people are your people. They are not going to hate you. Regardless of you being from another Kingdom. You are my mate. Their Luna. And on top of that you are the Last Dragon-borne." I bite down hard on the inside of my cheek to keep from arguing. Arguing with him was pointless. He wasn't going to stop until he conned me into doing it. He was head strong.
"MAMA!!!" My heart jumped to my throat and I spin around fast. Rose was coming down the hallway with Luca in her arms. She smiles brightly at me. Luca was struggling in her arms. He wanted down. I found myself laughing as I made my way to them.
Rose chuckles as Luca leaps from her arms into mine. I wrap my arms around him tightly. He hugs.me the best his tiny arms can. I notice him pat me.
"Mama." I smile and inhale Luca's scent. It seems like he had just been bathed.
"I just got home and my own son would rather love you than his father. Little Traitor." I smile and turn back to Astor who was beaming at me. Luca pats my face excitedly.
"Come then. Rose we got it from here." I gasp alittle as Astor lays his hand on the small of my back and leads me forward. Luca didn't miss it because he got in my face and stared at me like something was wrong. I smile at him and look him over. My pendent wasn't there. I could feel my eyebrows draw together.
"Where's my pendent?" Astor looks down at Luca with a confused expression.
"I don't know. He doesn't let anyone touch it which is strange." Why would someone remove it in the first place? It was a gift. I frown and tighten my hold on him.
'Maybe it fell off. We will figure it out later.' I nod agreeing with Shade. That was my mother's. I had given it to Luca. Out of impulse mostly. But it was still his now and I wasn't okay with someone removing it from him.
The fresh air swirls around me and I blink several time refocusing. We were headed toward the front gates. Luca giggles and wraps hisnsmall arms around my neck. I kiss the side of his gently and look up. As the gates opened I could see the town from here.
It was so close to the castle. The nearest town to ours was fourty miles away. I couldn't help but smile. They seemed to be so close to each other. Even the subjects. Luca was looking around now. Astor chuckles slightly. Catching my attention. He was watching Luca curiously.
I step closet to Astor as we walk into the market place. It was lively. Children were running around playing and people were chatting. They all seemed to be pretty happy.
I did notice that there were a few people staring at us. I peek up at Astor but he seemed to be unphased by it and even nodded at them. I wanted to roll my eyes but I didn't. Because he was the king.
An elder woman draws my attention. She was looking at me and then to Luca. She was selling sweets. I mindlessly walk over to her. She politely smiles at me.
"Hello Luna. Would you like to try the cookies. Maybe one for the little one?" Luca grunts and leans down toward the cookies causing me to giggle.
"You can call me Freya. And yes please." The woman stands picking up a sugar cookie handing it into Luca's overly excited hands. I giggle as he nibbles on it and smiles around it.
"Thank you." The elderly woman laughs.
"No thank you. The little prince hasn't ever been here until today. Everyone has been eager to see him." My cheeks warm at her statement and I turn toward Astor. He stood there staring off at something. But he wasn't to far away from us.
What was he worried about?
