Silias sat on the far side of the room with materials laid out infront of him. Jade and Gemini stood by the door. They were really on edge. I shake my head at them. Raph stood by the window staring out at it. I let out a long sigh and walk over to him. He barely glanced at me.
"Raph if there was any other way I would do it. But this protects Luca." Raph sighs and looks down at me.
"I know that. But, The bond..the damage..the caring for someone feeling their every pain, the need to protect them..It doesn't go away even after the bond in gone." Something flashed in his eyes. My ears felt hot. What was he trying to say?
"Look Frey..I care about you. I want you safe. And this isn't safe." My heart skipped a beat. Why?
"I'm safe. You're with me. Your my best friend Raph." Raph smirks and looks back out the window for a second before looking at me again.
"Until my last breath." I inhale a shaky breath. That sounded like something more. And I didn't feel that way about him..I didn't want to hurt him. Raph walks away from me.
'Mistress...he loves you.' I wrap my arms around myself. I press my head against the window.
'That doesn't make it any easier..he knows that I love Astor.' Shade sighs.
'I'm sorry.' Yeah me too. I couldn't deal with all this. I needed to push the conversation with Raph aside. I didn't want to deal with it.
The sun was setting. It would be time soon. A knock on the door draws.my attention. Jade opens the door and my eyes widen. A woman walks in. Her hair us a platinum blonde color.
She was an Elf. But she wasn't a dark Elf. She stares at me for a long moment before smiling gently.
"My name is Ava. I am Christian's wife." A light Elf married to a dark Elf? How in the night did that happen?
"I understand that we are to enter a Blood Oath." I slowly approach her.
"Yes. I thought that it would be in the best interest of all of us." Ava smiles sadly.
"My husband is going to kill me after our child is born." My eyes widen as I look at Jade and Gemini. The sadness in their eyes..it hurt my heart.
"The blood Oath prevents that." I turn toward Silias with a confused expression. No it didn't. Unless he alters the incantation...but I didn't think he could do that? I turn to Ava and she gives me a sad smile.
"That will not stop him."
"Then we take you away where he can't find either of you." Ava's eyes widen and she takes a step toward me.
"Why would you do that for me?" I shrug. Why wouldn't I do it?
"Because Our Luna is a sucker for new moms. She's been through alot and doesn't want anyone else to hurt." I arch an eyebrow at Silias. Really? Why is he telling someone we don't know this? Why was he making it seem like I was weak. Ava chuckles.
"Your Luna looks less than pleased with you." I force a smile and give her my full attention.
"I want to do it because you deserve to raise your child. And I can station you in my Kingdom. It's safe there. And your husband will only think that you are securing your heir's claim to it. But you will have to remain alive and away from him. My people will keep you safe. Even from your husband."
Ava look taken back by my words but she gives me a small smile.
"Your like your mother. I met her once. She had tried to talk me out of marrying Christian. I should have listened to her." Gemini sighs and shakes her head. But Ava seemed to ignore It.
"Excuse us my lady. We will meet you shortly. But now we have to get everything ready." Ava nods and does something that surprises us all.
She strides over to me and wraps me in her arms. I cut my eyes to The Twins and they seemed shocked.
"Protect my son." It was barely auditable. But I had heard it. I felt myself frown as I embrace her back. I wasn't going to let her die.
"I will. I promise." She pulls away with a sad smile and silently leaves the room.
"He will still kill her." I turn my attention to Gemini and she wore a cold expression. Jade pats her back gently trying to comfort her. What's going on?
Jade sighs.
"He killed our younger brother. He saw him as a threat to his throne." My jaw sets. This is exactly why I hate people.
"Freya I need your blood." I narrow my eyes at Silias.
"What for?" Silias grins.
"If I inject her with it during the ceremony your Dragon's blood will protect her. He won't won't able to kill her or even be able to send someone to do it because the blood Oath will active and inflict the injury onto the attacker." My eyes widen and I hold my arm out toward him. He chuckles and goes to his bag pulling out a syringe. I wince as the needle goes in.
I catch Raph take a step forward but stop. He was fighting himself not to come over here and pull me away from Silias. I shake my head as Silias pulls the needle from my arm.
"That'll do it. Thank you Princess." I shake my head and sway alittle. That was weird. I go to take a step forward when the room tilts.
I could hear Raph curse. Arms wrap around me lifting me off the floor. What the hell? What just happened?
Silias ushers Raph to the sofa where instead of setting me down on it sits down with me in his lap I look up at him. He looked so worried.
Silias's warm hand touches my forehead as he begins to chant something. Then he yanks his hand back like I had burned him.
"What's wrong?" Raph inhales a deep breath trying to steady his own nerves.
"She pregnant...but it's an Elven child! Ava used an ancient spell to transfer the baby..She must have done it when she hugged you." My heart was beating so fast that I could hear it in my ears.
SHE DID WHAT?! Why would she do that?! Wouldn't Christian kill her if he found out? Why me though?! I struggle out of Raph's hold and glare at the twins. They stood there with wide eyes.
"What was she thinking?! Why would she transfer a growing child into another uterus!!" Jade cracks a smile.
"What better person to protect a baby than a dragon?"
'She has a point Mistress. Our body is healthy and the child will grow just fine. And he would grow up in the light instead of with his cruel father.'
I groan and roll my eyes. Throwing my hands up in the air I let out a frustrated growl.
This was getting way out of hand!! The Goddess seemed to have a cruel sense of humor when it came to me.
