Internal Conflicts

The next day came quickly. Stepping out of our apartment, the bright clean day greeted us. The rain storm from the night before and given the city a new life. Everything was shiny and clean. The plants in the courtyard were a vivid green. I couldn’t help but smile at what I saw.

We walked along the damp streets breathing in the light fresh air. Breakfast was again at a local café and then we moved on to the Seine. The plan for the day was to take a leisurely look at Paris from the view that many would have seen coming up the Seine. The use of the waterways was not nearly as important and depended on as it had been in the centuries before. To understand the history and culture of an area, it has to be seen from all aspects, including the water.
