New Magic

After a dozen questions had been directed at her, Callie held up her hands to quiet them all. Silence descended. All eyes looked toward her.

“Why are you asking me all this if you already know the answers?”

All forms stilled and appeared to be looking at each other without being obvious. It would have been humorous if she hadn’t been so angry. Heads didn’t move as eyes slid sideways just a bit.

Paschama gave a genteel cough. “Well, we can see what the plants and trees can show us. We cannot see where they are not.”

Callie gave a slow nod. Yes, that made sense. “But that would be most of everything that has happened to me. I’m sure you saw everything at the Sanctuary.”

Several of the Council members nodded. Paschama gave her a smile that would have appeared creepy in such a form, but Callie only saw it as beautiful.

“Maybe through your perspective we can gain more insight.”
