Engagement Ceremony

Kyran was not by my side when I woke up. He mostly was never out of reach, so it made me nervous that he wasn't.

"Kyran?" I said, as I flopped the covers up. Red rose petals fell off it in torrents, and I looked around. I don't remember having flowers on the bed last night.

I stood up, and from where my flip flops were, started a path made by candles and flowers.

"Kyran?" I said again, as I slowly came down and touched my feet to the ground.

I wore my flip flops and walked slowly through the path. It led to the door, and I opened it slowly. The path continued outside, down the stairs. The house was quiet, and even when I passed by Aaron's room, it was closed. He was always the first to wake up, so it was weird.

The flowers continued downstairs and I followed them.
