Brothers

Julian was scared of the scene in front of him. He didn't know what to do. There were dead bodies everywhere, and the building they were on was on the brink of collapsing. To say that the prince was scared was an understatement.

He was terrified.

The roof was still intact which bothered Julian. In the Morpol Ruins, there was a giant hole on the roof which where the moonlight would pass through and light up the throne room.

But in where he was, different colored flames that were burning around him was the only source of light. It was hot and painful. Julian wanted to cry but he was scared of Romeo who was approaching him with blazing anger in his eyes.

"M-My king…" Julian trailed off. "What are you doing, my king?"

Romeo did not respond. His head was still hung low as he walked even closer. "Die!"

The king raised his sword and slashed it right into Julian. The latter could only close his eyes. When he did, he woke up back in the Memorial of Time. Romeo was beside him as both of them laid on the cold concrete flooor.

The scenes that Julian saw flashed in his memories. He couldn't explain the feeling that he had when he saw Romoe but one thing was clear. He was scared.

"My prince," Romeo said in his slumber. "No. I would not do that to him."

The man's eyes opened in a flash. Julian kneeled beside him and couldn't help but wrap his arms around him, sobbing as the pain of fear and anger boiled inside of him. He couldn't help his emotions. He felt sad and betrayed, but he didn't know why.

"Prince Julian, are you okay?" Romeo asked, returning the warm embrace of his betrothed. He let Julian sob in his chest, the man listening calmly to his muffled cries. "I'm not going to do that to you."

"You also saw the same dream?" Julian asked. "What was that? I don't want that to happen to us."

Romeo placed his hand on Julian's chin. He stared into the prince's dark eyes, feeling himself melt with the intense emotions he had. "I love you."

With that, Romeo crashed his lips onto Julian. The latter was shocked for a brief moment befoe he melted into the kiss. Their kiss was passionate and intense. Their lips were reclaiming one another while their tongue danced at the rhythm of their racing heartbeats.

As Julian took off to breath. He stared into Romeo's eyes and was about to burst crying again, making Romeo crash their lips again.

The two of them shared the kiss until midnight. Julian fell asleep into Romeo's arms and the latter brought the prince to his home. But a feeling of confliction and guilt would rise inside him as he stared into the prince's eyes.

"I'm sorry," Romeo whispered and placed a gentle kiss on Julian's forehead. "But I would never leave you. I'm not some dork who would abandon his lover."

"That's good," a voice spoke behind him. Romeo turned to see who it was and Adolph was there, sitting on the sofa of Julian's room. "Because I won't care if you're a king of a colossal kingdom or what. If you ever hurt our Julian, I will personally kill you."

Romeo nodded. He stood in front of Adolph and bowed. "Thank you for taking care of Julian all these years. I'm sorry I mistook your scent on him as a sign of anything else but for protection."

Adolph nodded. "Alphas would always want to own a scentless omega. Please, try to add your scent onto Julian or even mark him as your own as soon as possible."

Romeo's eyes widened. He gulped and glanced at Julian, his face red with a different kind of embarrassment. "I-I don't think he's ready for me to mark him–"

"Mark him?!" Adolph yelled. This made Julian shuffle in bed, causing the former to groan and drag Romeo out of the room. When they got outside, Adolph immediately crossed his arms. "What do you mean mark him? Julian is too young. He needs to be at least your age to be marked."

"But," Romeo crossed his arms and smirked. "What's your scent doing in my brother's clothes?"

Adolph's eyes widened. He immediately bowed to Romeo just like what the king did for him a while ago. "I promise to take responsibility for what I did to Russell. He's too young, but I promise that I didn't mark him."

Adolph paused when Romeo laughed out loud. The king was holding his stomach, can't stop laughing for some reason. "You didn't even marked him yet. He forced you to kiss. Russell told me everything, don't worry. Now, it's your turn to follow me."

The two of them went to the one of the towers of the castle. They went to the top to discuss this serious conversation deeper. For Romeo, it was bad when anyone else would hear about Adolph and Russell's relationship.

Even when he was a high ranking official in Edelweiss, he was still a commoner and his blood was seen as lower than the royals. Romeo knows that the maids would gossip about this and since it includes his brother, he have to take precautions.

"Now," Romeo said. "Please tell me everything in detail. Russell didn't tell me anything. Instead, he ran away like a child."

"We met two years ago in the Autumntide Party," Adolph started. "I was standing in the side, looking out for Julian since he wouldn't try to go to the ball. It was when I got to the bathroom when I heard Prince Russell and an older man."

The mention of the older man made Romeo's eyes narrow. He smirked and let Adolph continue.

"Okay," Adolph sighed. "So, I took the courage to pull your brother out of the bathroom, away from Lord Patrick of Varans. I took him inside a room where he tried to hold me down and quench his heat. I did my best to chain him down and perform a heat suppression spell. And the night ended with Prince Russell begging for me to fall asleep beside him. But nothing happened."

"But you still happen to have your scent in his clothes, why is that?" Romeo asked. "And Lord Patrick. That man is fifty years old. Are you sure it's him?"

"I'm certain that it was Lord Patrick. And for the scent, Prince Russell asked for me to have my scent onto him, just so that no alpha would come near him," Adolph replied. "Your majesty, I beg for your forgiveness."

"No," Romeo said seriously. This made Adolph's heart drop to his stomach. He was now sure that he would be executed for assault. He was scared. "I won't accept your forgiveness because I want you to continue what you are doing."

Adolph looked up to see Romeo smiling. "Russell actually begged me too. He said that it was his fault and not yours, blah blah. My reaction right now is basically the same your reaction when it comes to Julian."

Romeo offered his hands to Adolph. "Let's promise each other to protect each other's younger brothers."

Adolph took the king's hand and shook it. "Yes, your majesty. I will do everything to protect Prince Russell."
